Love triangles are something of a staple feature on 'Grey's Anatomy', but the love triangle with Teddy Altman at the center has captured the imagination of 'Grey's Anatomy' fans. This could be because of the irreverence that Tom Koracick brings to the equation. After all, it's always interesting to see a character who is almost cruelly overconfident, become just as vulnerable as the rest of us when it comes to love. In the Season 17 episodes aired in December, Tom Koracick has perhaps been at his most vulnerable after he contracts COVID-19.

Teddy's relationship with Owen is on the rocks because she cheated on Owen with Tom and she's been keeping other secrets from him too. But Teddy refuses to let Tom down in his hour of need. Whether it's about going to check on Tom at his house or staying by his bedside during his battle with COVID-19, we have to wonder if Teddy in spite of her declarations of love for Owen has her heart set on Tom.

We have to say that if Teddy chooses Tom, we don't think that would be the worst idea. After all, any man who can make you laugh out loud while he's ill has got to be a keeper. In one scene, earlier in Season 17, Teddy is pouring out her feelings to Tom, unaware that he is conscious. When she realizes that he has in fact heard everything she has said, she says, "I hate you".

In what is perhaps one of the most touching moments of their relationship and perhaps the entire season, Tom in spite of being pretty sick and out of it, says, "We both know that's not true". He then, in typical Tom fashion, lightens the mood saying, " What would you say to a sponge bath? You know as a friend, a friendly sponge bath?" At this point Teddy even in a PPE suit, knee deep in the pandemic, bursts out laughing.

This is precisely the sort of light-heartedness and banter that is missing from Teddy and Owen's relationship. Teddy and Owen obviously have a family and a lot of shared history, but in some ways, it is a history that is tied into a lot of trauma and intensity, which leaves little room for the ease that Tom and Teddy share.

However, in spite of the moment Teddy and Tom share, we see Teddy trying to make things right between her and Owen. She tells Owen that she loves him and she loved their family, even if it's all over. Owen tells her that he feels he has never really ever known her and is not sure what to do with all of the information he is learning about Teddy, whether it is her affair with Tom or her romantic relationship with her best friend Allison.

Will Owen ever be able to forgive Teddy? Or will Teddy finally find the acceptance she's looking for with Tom? To find out more about which way this love triangle will develop, you can catch the new episode of 'Grey's Anatomy' on ABC on Thursday, March 11 at at 9|8c.
