Trevor Noah hosted the Grammys 2024 and not many people were happy with his hosting skills

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Stand-up comedian Trevor Noah served as the host for the Grammys 2024.

On Sunday, February 4, 'The Daily Show' alum hosted the Grammy Awards for the fourth time. He started by welcoming Meryl Streep to her seat at the ceremony.

While Streep made her way to the seat, Noah said, "This moment right here — you know what that means? It means the Grammys is gonna win an Oscar. Yeah. I don't know how but we just did it." 

During his opening monologue, Noah called Streep "one of the greatest Meryl Streeps of all time".

Taylor Swift, a record-breaker at the Grammys, arrived late. As she moved through the room, Noah discussed the singer's economic influence.

Noah asked the crowd, "Are you seeing what's happening right now as Taylor Swift moves through the room? The local economy around those tables improves. Can you see you get this magic right now? Look at this magic. Lionel Richie, now Lionel Wealthy. Look at that."

Shortly after, social media users began sharing their take on Noah's hosting skills.

An X user said, "Feel like the Grammys could be shorter like idk trevor noah could yap a little less."

Another user chimed in, "This is what trevor noah is going for (and failing to replicate) with these tableside chats."

One person wrote, "Trevor does suck."

A user went on to say, "Somebody replace trevor noah he’s so CORNY."

One user shared, "Trevor Noah is hosting the Grammys. He gets on my nerves."

Another user added, "I struggle with trevor noah he is terrible i blame the poor economy for the #GRAMMYs2024 #Grammys not able to afford Ricky Gervais."

Trevor Noah makes an NFL joke for Taylor Swift at Grammys 2024

At one point during his monologue, Noah made a playful comment about how Taylor Swift often appears on camera during NFL games to support her boyfriend Travis Kelce.

Noah joked that instead of showing Swift whenever she is mentioned, the cameras should focus on a football player.

He said, "I think it is so unfair how NFL fans have been complaining about the cameras cutting to Taylor Swift? Right? Like she's controlling the cameras at the games."

Noah went on to say, "I'm gonna get revenge. Every time someone says Taylor Swift. I'm going to cut the cameras to someone who plays football," as the cameras panned to Terry Crews.

How many times has Trevor Noah hosted the Grammys?

For the unversed, Trevor Noah has been chosen for the fourth time in a row to host the 2024 Grammy Awards.

In December 2023, the comedian revealed on his podcast, 'What Now? with Trevor Noah,' that he would be playing the role of host at the 2024 Grammy Awards, as per CBS News. 

Then, Noah said, "I'm hosting the Grammys. Yeah, I'm excited about that. It's a lot of fun. I enjoy the Grammys because I just ... I get to watch the show in person and then just experience some comments on it in person while it is happening." 

What does Trevor Noah make for hosting Grammys?

Trevor Noah has been the host of the Grammys for the past three years and is hosting again this year.

Although the exact amount of Noah's payment for hosting the Grammy Awards is unknown, it is estimated that the Grammys host receives a minimum of $5,000 according to SAG-AFTRA regulations, but likely earns around $20,000, according to Parade.
