Who is Handyman? 'The Masked Singer' Season 14 contestant's identity leaves fans and judges guessing
'The Masked Singer' Season 14 had one performer generating the buzz with his rendition of "Shake Your Groove Thing" by Peaches & Herb. The judges' panel — Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, and Rita Ora started tossing names into the mix. The celeb names ranged from Vin Diesel and Idris Elba, with some believing that the singer could be Tone Lōc.
Thicke called it Lōc, and according to GoldDerby, Handyman's persona matched his real-life upbringing in LA, where he has been open about his early life on the street. The celeb also mentioned that he has been "rolling" with top Hollywood names, from Robert De Niro to Courteney Cox. He also made a name for himself alongside De Niro in the hit 1995 classic, 'Heat'. He also shared the screen with the 'Friends' star as Detective Emilio in 'Ace Ventura: Pet Detective'.
His clue read, "I'm your host, Handyman, and today I'm going to teach you how to flip your life upside down. I grew up on the West Coast, and as a kid, I was scrappy. I was a tough guy, and I rode around with an interesting crew. It was fun. Wanna see my wild guy face? I was never lookin' for trouble, so I used my image to shift gears. Suddenly, the crowd I was rollin' with included everyone from De Niro to Courteney Cox. Turns out, I could still be scrappy, but use that attitude for something good. My street cred has never been higher."
Other masked contestants this run include Snow Cone, Galaxy Girl, High Voltage, 14 Karat Carrot, Queen Corgi, Croissants, Scarab, Eggplant, Owl, Calla Lily, Le Who Who, Stingray, Pangolin, and Crane, all looking to win.
Earlier. Googly Eyes became the first contestant to be unmasked. The celeb was revealed to be former baseball star David Ortiz. Disney Channel darling Kylie Cantrall had revealed her identity to be Cat Witch, though there was a catch. Only the audience knows who she is, while the host and judges are still in the dark about her reveal.
The logline for the next episode reads, "A very special guest visits the panellists... Johnny Knoxville; to receive crucial hints, the panellists must overcome their worst fears; the contestants take to the stage to share how they have faced their fears."
'The Masked Singer' Season 14 airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FOX, with episodes available to stream the next day on Hulu.
