'Gotham Knights': Release date, plot, cast, trailer and all you need to know about the new Batman video game

Batman is dead but Gotham City still needs protection. When Bruce Wayne falls in an attack on Gotham City, it's up to his family to step up and protect the city with the legacy he left behind. It's going to take the combined powers of Robin, the Red Hood, Nightwing and Batgirl to save the city from the incoming threat of one of Batman's greatest foes - the Court of Owls. 'Gotham Knights' is set to release some time in 2021.

Plot

The game sees Bruce Wayne dead after an attack on Gotham. Bruce Wayne has, however, left a video message for his family and sidekicks, as Gotham City still needs protection. It's up to Robin, Nightwing, Red Hood and Batgirl to suit up and tackle crime in the streets without their mentor leading them. They've been given a new headquarters - the Belfry - and though its equipment might be a little out of date, all four playable characters are bringing their own skills and abilities to the table. They're going to need all the help they can get, however, as waiting in the shadows of Gotham is its oldest shadowy organization - the Court of Owls.

The voice actor cast list for the game has not yet been announced.

News

The game was announced during the WB Games Montreal panel event atDC FanDome on August 22, 2020. The panel was hosted by 'Shazam!' actor Zachary Levi. Gameplay was also revealed, which saw all four characters teaming up in a mission to take out Mister Freeze. 

Trailer

The first trailer for the game was released on August 22, 2020, at the DC FanDome online event. The trailer features a video message from Bruce Wayne to his sidekicks, telling them he is dead and that it is up to them to carry on his legacy. The trailer also features gameplay footage showing off the characters' unique skills, as well as a tease for the Court of Owls.
