Golden Globes 2024: 'Barbie' fans furious as Christopher Nolan beats Greta Gerwig to Best Director
LOS ANGELES: 'Barbie' and 'Oppenheimer' have been 2023's most talked-about movies. Despite being of different genres, both bagged equally large fan followings and were believed to have the potential to win awards at 'Golden Globes 2024.
After Christopher Nolan was announced the winner of the Best Director in Motion Picture category, 'Barbenheimer' fans were left feuding as 'Barbie' fans believed Greta Gerwig should have been the one to take away the award.
Fans were left booing as they said, "It should have been Greta." It seems people were looking forward to a tie between Greta and Christopher. One shocked fan said, "And nothing for Greta Gerwig." Another praised Greta's work, "I feel like this a movie Greta Gerwig can only make once. She gave Barbie more life than ever."

'Barbie' and 'Oppenheimer' led the nominations list at Golden Globes 2024. 'Barbie' bagged 10 nominations while Christopher Nolan's 'Oppenheimer' got 8.

Who else was nominated for Best Director in Motion Picture at 'Golden Globes' 2024?
Besides Greta Gerwig's 'Barbie' and Christopher Nolan's 'Oppenheimer' there were four other directors who were nominated.
Bradley Cooper was nominated for 'Maestro,' Yorgos Lanthimos for 'Poor Things,' Martin Scorsese for 'Killers of the Flower Moon,' and Celine Song for 'Past Lives.'
Robert Downey Jr. wins Best Supporting Actor for 'Oppenheimer' at Golden Globes 2024
Robert Downey Jr. took home the Best Supporting Actor award for Christopher Nolan's 'Oppenheimer' at The Golden Globes 2024.
The other nominees in that category were Willem Dafoe for 'Poor Things,' Robert De Niro for 'Killers of the Flower Moon,' Ryan Gosling for 'Barbie,' Charles Melton for 'May December,' and Mark Ruffalo for 'Poor Things.'
As Downey Jr won the Best Supporting Actor award, one fan commented, "Well deserved honor." Another wrote, "SO DAMN PROUD OF HIIIIIIM."
Calling his win "well deserved" others claimed, "The king. Hail to the king bb."
Robert was seen posing with the award in hand and making a gesture as if he was biting it.
The 81st annual award ceremony took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.
