Veteran actor Will Smith stunned the world with his epic performance in the movie ‘King Richard’ and fans were saying that he should definitely be rewarded for his skills. It seems Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) heard them and awarded Best Actor in a Motion Picture (Drama) to Smith for his superlative performance in ‘King Richard'.

The actor faced stiff competition in the group and edged Benedict Cumberbatch (‘The Power of the Dog’), Mahershala Ali (‘Swan Song’), Denzel Washington (‘The Tragedy of Macbeth’), and Javier Bardem (‘Being the Ricardos’) to win the accolade. Smith’s role in the movie garnered universal acclaim and was always considered to be a frontrunner for the Best Actor accolade.
