Netflix in a refreshing move is set to release its first original Portuguese series and fans are looking forward to watching it. A thriller, the series looks very enticing with the trailer setting a tense tone.

The official Netflix press release reads, 'Gloria is a historical spy thriller centered on RARET, the re-broadcasting office of Radio Free Europe. Taking place in Portugal in the sixties, the series shows how Gloria, a small village in Ribatejo, became an unlikely Cold War stage where American and Soviet forces fought through dangerous sabotage maneuvers to achieve control of Europe. At the center of this story is João Vidal, a young man from a family with connections in the Portuguese Fascist Regime, who gets recruited by the KGB after becoming politicized in the Colonial War. João will find himself involved in the intricate webs of the spy game, and ultimately understand that whatever side he is on, the world, particularly the one of espionage, is never black and white. Miguel Nunes as  João Vidal

Miguel Nunes is a Portuguese actor, producer, and director. The actor was born Miguel João de Almeida Freire Nunes on April 18, 1988 in Lisbon, Portugal. Nunes started his career as an actor at the early age of 12 in a TV series. During his early years, he worked with several directors such as Teresa Villaverde, João Pedro Rodrigues, João Botelho, Margarida Gil and Mavi Phillips.  Nunes graduated from the Lisbon Theatre and Film School in 2012 with an MFA in Theatre. The actor won the Best Young Actor Award at Lisbon and Estoril Film Festival in 2011 with the feature film "Cisne" directed by Teresa Villaverde. In 2016, Nunes play the lead in  Cartas da Guerra' by Ivo Ferreira - which was acclaimed by international critics as one of the most powerful war movies in recent years. He's also leading the cast of the TV series 'Dentro' and 'Madre Paula' for the public TV channel RTP1. He made his debut in directing with the short film 'Anjo' in 2018. He will star in Netflix's first Portuguese series 'Gloria' as  João Vidal.

Stephanie Vogt  as Anne O'Brien Wilson

Stephanie Vogt is an American actress born on August 12, 1975, in Kearney, Nebraska, USA. Possessing a strong aptitude for acting, she was quickly signed by several talent agencies throughout the Midwest. Vogt received her first big opportunity in the theaters of St Louis, garnering rave reviews for lead performances as the foul-mouthed, Southern belle "Miami" in the Sam Shepard play "Seduced", and as the vulnerable, conflicted "Lisa" in "Private Eyes" by Steven Dietz. After gaining experience she bagged her first feature film and moved to Dallas to shoot a major supporting role as a murder suspect in 'Pendulum'. After her role in 'Pendulum', she was offered work in projects across the world which saw her live in  Seoul, Bangkok, and Hong Kong. When returned to Los Angeles she immediately booked roles on hit TV series which include 'The District', 'Strong Medicine' and 'CSI: Miami' among others. However, it was her recurring role as "Liz" on HBO's hit series 'Entourage' which earned her the most appreciation. She was most recently seen on the big screen opposite Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham in 'Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw'. She is set to appear as Anne O'Brien Wilson in 'Gloria'.

'Gloria' is set to release on November 5, 2021, on Netflix.
