Based on the classic ‘Ghost in the Shell’ manga created by Masamune Shirow, ‘Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045’ premiered its first season on Netflix on April 23, 2020. It was one of the most controversial Original anime shows on Netflix. Season 1 had upset many loyal ‘Ghost in the Shell’ fans, thanks to a change to the CGI-heavy animation fashion. It’s easy to understand the disappointment of the fans as the 'Ghost in the Shell' anime titles of the 90s were so iconic in anime history.
Surprisingly, Netflix’s controversial ‘Ghost in the Shell’ anime sequence is taking another subsequent step by “reimagining” the first season as a feature-length movie. Season one will be "reborn as a feature-length theatrical animation complete with new scenes and a full re-color grading of all shots," the trailer's official description reads. A second season is due to hit the streaming platform on Monday, May 23, two weeks after the movie is released. Here’s all that we know about the movie so far.

What is ‘Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 Sustainable War’ all about?
Those who’ve already watched the first season of 'Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045' will already be acquainted with the story. The movie will be a retelling of the first season of the series and is being “reborn” into a feature-length film.
Brand new scenes have been added, and the movie has "a full-color re-color grading of all shots.” For anybody new to 'Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045', the official synopsis reads, "In 2045, the world has been thrown into a state of systematic “sustainable war,” but the threat of human extinction at the hands of AI hasn’t yet pervaded the public consciousness. Former members of Public Security Section 9, including full-body cyborg Major Motoko Kusanagi, are working as hired mercenaries when mysterious beings known as “post humans” begin to emerge. The world’s superpowers are trying to come to grips with the threat, and so Section 9 is reorganized."
Who will star in ‘Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 Sustainable War'?
Season one cast will be returning in the movie version. The cast includes Akio Ohtsuka as Batou, Kōichi Yamadera as Togusa, Yutaka Nakano as Ishikawa, Toru Ohkawa as Saito, Takashi Onozuka as Paz, Tarô Yamaguchi as Borma, Sakiko Tamagawa as Tachikoma, and Osamu Saka as Daisuke Aramaki.
Showrunners
The chief directors of the movie are Kenji Kamiyama and Shinji Aramaki, while Michihito Fujī (‘The Journalist’ and ‘A Family’) is the director. Ilya Kuvshinov is the character designer, and Production I.G and SOLA DIGITAL ARTS are the animation production companies.
