'First Wives Club': Release date, plot, cast, and everything you need to know about BET's reboot of the 1996 film

The ten-episode show will follow a group of women who cope with the aftermath of their divorces and seek revenge on their ex-husbands.

On September 19, BET Networks (a unit of Viacom Inc.) and Tyler Perry Studios will launch their joint venture and premier subscription video-on-demand service BET+ in the US. The service will include premium content as well as exclusive new original shows.

One of the original shows is the reboot of the 1996 'First Wives Club' which starred Diane Keaton, Better Midler, Goldie Hawn, and Maggie Smith. The show will follow a group of women who cope with the aftermath of their divorces and seek revenge against their ex-husbands. The show will consist of ten episodes.

The show will premiere on BET+ when it is launched on September 19, 2019.

Plot:

In the original movie, three friends from college are brought together by their friend who commits suicide. The three women decide to seek revenge against the men who divorced them for younger women.

The BET+ series will be a little different. After Hazel is caught up in a massive cheating scandal, her best friends from college, Bree and Ari, whose marriages have also fallen apart, come to her aid. Through the three women, the viewers will get a story of sisterhood while they support each other and seek revenge as they learn to put themselves first.
