Since the pandemic has become a huge part of people's lives in the real world, most series that were halted due to the virus outbreak came back with a dose of reality embedded into their plotline. This year has also not just been focused on the virus but also the Black Lives Matter demonstrations that took over many states in the United States of America.

CBS comedies such as 'The Neighborhood' returned with strong episodes relating to the world's response to the Black Lives Matter movement and medical dramas such as 'The Good Doctor' and 'Chicago Med' returned with Covid-19 as part of their stories. Now, CBS's American crime drama series 'FBI: Most Wanted' is set to do the same straight from their first episodes. Will Covid-19 and Black Lives Matter affect the lives of FBI special agents? In the real world, it did, so we're assuming that it will be mirrored into the series.

The synopsis of the first episode speaks of the virus "devastating" the country, as it quickly dives into the first case of gunmen acting on their "desperation and rage" as they blame the elite for oppressing them. Crime never stops, not even when a virus is taking over the country, and this could be an interesting plotline since the major protagonist since FBI Agent Jess LaCroix (Julian McMahon) has a young daughter and his father Byron LaCroix (Terry O'Quinn) also returns home. As for the Black Lives Matter protests, we're unsure of how they will be perceived, or if they will be at all.

According to reports, the showrunner of the series David Hudgins said that "We ground our team in the real world", revealing that not only would we deep into character development with Jess, but also special agents Kenny Crosby (Kellan Lutz) and Sheryll Barnes (Roxy Sternberg) "through the lens of ripped-from-the-headlines issues, such as the coronavirus and police protests". Since the words "police protests" was used, we would assume it would be of the Black Lives Matter movement considering those broke headlines in the US these past few months.

According to cinemablend, Sternberg said, "The storylines, they get very dark and most of the storylines are based on true stories, which is pretty disturbing. Ultimately, we deal with the worst of the worst criminals, and so I think the storylines are slightly darker," speaking of Season 1 back in January. The first season of 'FBI: Most Wanted' was definitely dark, but now that audiences are promised more depth of characters along with real-world issues in Season 2, we think that this season might top the first one. The series is a spinoff from Dick Wolf's drama 'FBI', and first premiered on January 7, 2020. It was renewed for a second season in May, and is not set to premiere its second season today. If you've watched shows such as the 'NCIS' or the 'Chicago' franchise, or even the original series 'FBI', 'FBI: Most Wanted' could be your next binge. If you'd like to catch up on Season 1 of the series, you can on CBS All Acess or on Amazon Prime Video.

The official synopsis of the premiere episode titled 'Rampage' reads, "With COVID-19 devastating the country, two gunmen take out their desperation and rage on the elite class they perceive to be oppressing them; Jess' father returns and may not be over his old ways."

'FBI Most Wanted' Season 2 premieres on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, at 10 pm EST on CBS.
