'Welcome to Blumhouse: Evil Eye': Release date, plot, cast, trailer and all you need to know about the horror series on Amazon Prime
The third film from Amazon Studios and Blumhouse Television's joint venture — new anthology horror 'Welcome to Blumhouse' — 'Evil Eye' is soon to premiere on Prime Video. Based off the award-winning, best-selling Audible Original production from writer Madhuri Shekar, the very filmy romance involves a troubled triangle between a mother, her daughter and the daughter's boyfriend. Release date
'Evil Eye' comes in the second set of films under 'Welcome to Blumhouse' that are premiering in 2020, on October 13, along with the fourth film 'Nocturne'. The latter four films will launch in 2021.
Plot
According to the official synopsis by Amazon Studios, "A seemingly perfect romance turns into a nightmare when a mother becomes convinced her daughter's new boyfriend has a dark connection to her own past." As for the program 'Welcome to Blumhouse', the synopsis reveals it will be "a program of eight unsettling, genre movies produced by Jason Blum's Blumhouse Television and Amazon Studios. Sharing the spine-tingling suspense that's a Blumhouse signature, each film presents a distinctive vision and unique perspective on common themes centered around family and love as redemptive or destructive forces."
Cast
The film stars Sarita Choudhury of 'Mississippi Masala' and 'Lady in the Water' fame. Sunita Mani ('GLOW'), Omar Maskati ('Unbelievable'), and Bernard White ('Silicon Valley') also star.

Directed by Elan Dassani and Rajeev Dassani, 'Evil Eye' is executive produced by Jason Blum, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Lisa Bruce, Marci Wiseman, Jeremy Gold, Guy Stodel, Anjula Acharia, Emilia Lapenta and Kate Navin. This venture marks the first-ever program of Amazon Original movies on Prime Video that are thematically connected. Producer Blum, a horror maestro, is known widely for some of his finest in the genre, such as 'The Purge' and 'Paranormal Activity' franchises, along with some of television horror's finest anthologies like 'Into the Dark'.
