'Evil' Episode 6 spoilers tease David and Kristen's conflicting beliefs getting in the way of their harmonious work dynamics
In a newly released promo of the upcoming episode, we see David and Kristen in an intense discussion about the two of them disagreeing on the exorcism they took part in.
On episode six of CBS' 'Evil', titled '790' while priest-in-training David Acosta's (Mike Colter) faith takes a hit in the presence of a prophetess, his dynamics with investigation partner and clinical psychologist Dr. Kristen Bouchard suffer a blow too - the first of its kind, in fact, if you consider the hurt feelings aspect.
In a newly released promo of the upcoming episode, we see David and Kristen in an intense discussion about the two of them disagreeing on the exorcism they took part in for their previous case. While David believes his skill and expertise could prove to be a strength for the cases they work in together, Kristen clearly suffers from a lack of faith in his beliefs. Like David points out, Kristen's keenness in conducting exorcisms as experiments is what's getting in their way of a harmonious work relationship.
But in Kristen's defense, her job is to debunk mysterious, unexplained behavior with logical explanations based on psychosis. So when their subject reacted to the fake holy water under what was believed to be demonic possession, it only solidifies Kristen's lack of faith in the system. In a semi-snarky tone, Kristen tells David just how weird all of this is for her as she believes her way of life is far more progressive than indulging and actively believing in the legitimacy of exorcisms and possessions.
We also know that this episode will show David having a clear battle with his beliefs owing to a lapse in faith as his 'God' doesn't directly communicate with him, unlike other prophetesses, and that's what could trigger this breach in his and Kristen's impeccable dynamics further.
'Evil' episode 6 will air on Thursday, November 7 at 10 pm only on CBS.
