Evan Peters bags Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Limited Series for Jeffrey Dahmer biopic show
BEVERLY HILLS, LOS ANGELES: The 80th Golden Globe Awards were held on Tuesday night on NBC, and the winner has just been announced for Best Performance in a Limited or Anthology Series or Television Film. Any guesses? After starring in Netflix's 'Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story', Evan Peters was able to nab the win for Best Performance in a Limited Series.
Although, previously there were a lot of controversies over a particular line of Katy Perry's 'Dark Horse', especially after Peter featured in and as Dahmer in the Netflix series. 'Dahmer' is about the life of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer (Evan Peters). Other main characters include Dahmer's father Lionel (Richard Jenkins), stepmother Shari (Molly Ringwald), suspicious neighbor Glenda (Niecy Nash), and grandmother Catherine (Michael Learned).

However, in the beginning, the Netflix series had a fair amount of backlash because of the mixed reviews it had gotten and some "problematic" scenes as the critics called it. As time passed, the series became Netflix's second most-watched English-language series of all time within 28 days, and the third Netflix series to pass 1 billion views in 60 days. Furthermore, the series reached number one on the Nielsen Top 10 streaming chart in the first week of its release and placed No 7 on Nielsen's all-time list for single-week viewership in its second week.
The streaming giant initially ordered the program in 2020 as a limited series. However, Netflix announced in November 2022, that it had renewed 'Monster' as an anthology series, with two further editions based on the lives of "other monstrous figures" (which are yet to be announced).
Along with Peters for 'Dahmer', other nominees included Colin Firth as Michael Peterson for HBO Max's 'The Staircase', Taron Egerton as James "Jimmy" Keane for Apple TV+'s 'Black Bird', Andrew Garfield as Detective Jeb Pyre for FX on Hulu's 'Under the Banner of Heaven', and lastly, Sebastian Stan as Tommy Lee for Hulu's 'Pam & Tommy'.
