'Emperor of Ocean Park' Episode 5 Preview: Talcott and Mariah's failing investigation now has only one hope

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: After four episodes, MGM+'s latest show 'Emperor of Ocean Park' continues to tease viewers with the mystery without giving a single hint.
Mariah (Tiffany Mack) and Talcott Garland (Grantham Coleman), the two grown-up siblings, pair up to investigate their father, Judge Oliver Garland's (Forest Whitaker) death. Before his death, he made some 'arrangements' that Talcott must uncover before it's too late.
What happens in 'Emperor of Ocean Park' Episode 4?
After discovering that Lisa was Father Freeman Brown's girlfriend, Talcott and Mariah sift through the church’s directories and visitor logs to narrow down their search in 'Emperor of Ocean Park' Episode 4.
When they finally locate Lisa, she claims to know nothing about the arrangements. She also reveals that Father Brown met with Agent Dermott on the night he was killed.
The duo also meets with Supreme Court Justice Wainwright in hopes of gathering information, but they come away empty-handed.
Meanwhile, the episode gives us a flashback to 2017 when Judge Garland met his eldest son Addison Garland (Henry Simmons), and told him about the arrangements.
As he asked him to carry the family's legacy, he gave him his scrapbook that had the newspaper cuttings of hits-and-run cases. This made Addison furious and he left abruptly.
Back to the present day, Addison appears agitated as Talcott and Mariah discuss their conspiracy theory, and he storms out of the room in frustration.
Later, when Talcott and Mariah visit Sally's house, they learn that after Judge Garland's death, Addison asked her to take the scrapbook and burn it.
What to expect in 'Emperor of Ocean Park' Episode 5?
After failing to get any information from Lisa or Wainwright, Mariah has only one option left: to dig deeper into Jack Zeigler to uncover more about the mystery.
Meanwhile, Talcott plans to search for answers on his father's chessboard and arrange a meeting with his chess buddy. The siblings are also likely to investigate why Addison wanted to get rid of the scrapbook.
Meanwhile, Talcott is also convinced that his wife Kimmer (Paulina Lule) is cheating on him with her boss Jerry. It would be interesting to see how he navigates through his marriage from here onwards.
The official synopsis for 'Emperor of Ocean Park' Episode 5 reads, "Stuck on a clue that The Judge left behind, Tal turns to his father's old chess buddy for help; Mariah seeks the help of an old colleague to dig up information on Jack Ziegler."

A fresh episode of 'Emperor of Ocean Park' is released on MGM+ every Sunday. As per the schedule, Episode 5 of the mystery series will be available on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at 10 pm ET.
