'Emperor of Ocean Park' Episode 2: Who killed Father Freeman Brown? Brutal murder suspects a deeper conspiracy

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: The thrill factor ramps up in Episode 2 of 'Emperor of Ocean Park' with the murder of Father Freeman Brown.
The MGM+ series managed to grab our attention in the debut episode with the death of Judge Oliver Garland (Forest Whitaker) by heart attack and his daughter Mariah (Tiffany Mack) suspecting a foul play.
Father Freeman Brown's murder in 'Emperor of Ocean Park' shocks Garland siblings
It's been only a day when the Garland siblings buried their beloved father. The next day when Mariah and Talcott Garland (Grantham Coleman) go to church, they surprisingly find it closed and soon discover that Father Brown is dead.
Father Brown's connection with the Garland family spans many years. He baptized the Garland children, and the family regularly attended his church. Father Brown also provided spiritual support to Judge Garland after his resignation.
Through the homicide detective, Mariah learns that Father Brown was a drug addict and was brutally tortured before being killed.
Did Jack Ziegler kill Father Freeman Brown in 'Emperor of Ocean Park'?
Mariah believes that Jack Ziegler (Torrey Hanson) has orchestrated the killing of Father Brown and Judge Garland. Being a former investigative journalist, she is trying to put together missing pieces of the puzzle.
However, it's too early to say if Jack is actually the killer even though he ticks off all the boxes. He is a former CIA agent turned criminal, accused of contract killings, illegal sale of fire arms and money laundering.
John, now 70 and looking frail, possesses the capability to orchestrate the killings, but it’s highly improbable that he is the murderer since it would kill the thrill of the story.
Here's a crazy theory- Jack is probably a victim of a propaganda, with Judge Garland possibly helping him to protect himself up until his death.
Father Brown's killers could be the men who posed as FBI agents at Talcott's house. It's safe to assume those men don’t work for Jack.
Probably, Father Brown knew something about Jack and Judge Garland and was killed for refusing to share this information to the perpetrators.
It's a long way before the mystery is unraveled but we hope to get further hints in the next episode.
