The brightest stars of Hollywood walk the Red Carpet as the 2021 Emmy Awards are on. The Los Angeles Microsoft Theatre dazzled with glitz and glamour as our favorite stars arrived at their absolute finest. The September 19 event comes days after the 2021 Met Gala, considered the fashion Olympics.

Celebs like Yara Shahidi, Kaley Cuoco, Mandy Moore and Elizabeth Olsen turned out to be shutterbug favorites as they looked resplendent in their stunning ensembles. Meanwhile, there were a few stars who failed to make the cut into our Emmy yearbook of fashion for their unimpressive attires. From Gillian Anderson to Amy Poehler, here are some of the stars who did not impress us much at the Emmys red carpet.

Gillian Anderson

Otherwise known for her impeccable sense of fashion and poise, actress Gillian Anderson was not among the best-dressed celebs. The 'Sex Education' star, 53, turned up in a white gown by Chloé with a weird cutaway at the midriff and fringed hem. The hangings from her blouse resembled keychains and curtain cords and were definitely not something you expect at the Emmys red carpet. However, her brilliant triumph at the Awards must be lauded.

Dan Levy

The 'Schitt's Creek' actor picked a bright blue tuxedo with dress pants, that had potential but failed to make a statement for their formal meets loungewear vibes. 'Dan Levy apparently came to the #Emmys directly from Ebenezer Scrooge's house,' a Twitter user joked about the Valentino outfit.

Issa Rae

The 26-year-old actress, who was nominated for 'A Black Lady Sketch Show' donned a glittering mesh dress which gave a peekaboo of her underwear underneath. The Aliétte gown is perhaps something you might expect at VMAs or even Met Gala, but not at the Primetime Emmys.

Amy Poehler

It appears that Amy Poehler drew her inspiration for the red carpet from the Instagram reels where fashion influencers showed their take on Dior runway fashion. The 50-year-old actress paired a sequined floor-length skirt with a plain black satin blazer and a belt. Overall, the ensemble appeared ill-matched and wasn't appealing.

Aidy Bryant

The 'Saturday Night Live' star unleashed her love for flowers in a rather dull manner as she wore an embroidered green gown by Simone Rocha. DailyMail described the dress as "part Woodstock, part Anne of Green Gables."

Chris Sullivan

Chris Sullivan shocked everyone as he showed up on the red carpet in a tiger-striped suit in black and brown. The 41-year-old 'This is Us' star was accompanied by his wife Rachel who donned a geometric-patterned blue suit.
