The Spanish teen drama from Netflix that took the world by storm is returning for its third season much sooner than we expected. When the show first premiered in October 2018, its premise — similar to 'How To Get Away With Murder' — both fascinated and thrilled fans.

The second season which dropped in September 2019 raised the stakes even further, which most thought was a nearly impossible task. Now, with the knowledge of the killer out in the open and the restructured social standings of many students, Season 3 could be a whole new game.

Release date

The third season of 'Elite' will drop on Netflix on March 13.

Plot

The first season of the show featured three new students from the poor side of town attending an elite school, thanks to scholarships. Each of them grows closer to certain people in the school. Through the season, we learn that Marina Osuna was killed by Polo Benavent.

The second season focused on Samuel Domínguez trying to clear his brother, Fernando, of the murder. To do this, he seduces and gets close to Carla Caleruega, whom he eventually manipulates with the help of Marina's brother Guzmán.

Polo is revealed to be the killer. Unfortunately, as Polo himself has not confessed and because of lack of evidence, the police cannot convict him. Polo can thank his new girlfriend, Cayetana Pando, for hiding the murder weapon.

While details on the plot of Season 3 are scarce, it most likely will feature Samuel and Guzmán working together to get Polo to confess. In the meantime, it looks like some new students will be joining the school.
