LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Another day and another disappointing news for DC fans. Before the release of ‘Black Adam’, Dwayne Johnson assured fans that the hierarchy of power in the DC universe was about to change and it looked pretty certain that the actor will be an important part of the franchise while moving forward. However, it seems James Gunn and Peter Safran have different ideas for the movie the DC Universe ahead and ‘Black Adam’ isn’t a part of it. In one of the most heart-breaking social media posts, the ‘Jumanji’ star noted that fans won’t be able to see the King of Qandahar anytime soon because of DC’s new strategy.

The actor shared a statement on his official Twitter account and gave the much-awaited update regarding the character’s future in the new DC Universe. The statement began with the heartbreaking announcement that the iconic comic-book character won’t be a part of the production giant’s “first chapter of storytelling.” However, he reassured fans that the character might be used in a “valuable” way in the future chapters of the DC Universe.

“My passionate friend, I wanted to give you a long-awaited ‘Black Adam’ update regarding the character’s future in the new DC Universe. James Gunn and I connected, and ‘Black Adam’ will not be in their first chapter of storytelling. However, DC and Seven Bucks have agreed to continue exploring the most valuable ways Black Adam can be utilized in future DC multiverse chapters,” Johnson said.

Despite the disappointing news, the actor felt really happy that he got the chance to tell Teth Adam’s story on the big screen and noted that he is very proud of his ‘Black Adam’ team for delivering such an amazing movie to fans across the globe. Johnson concluded the statement by acknowledging the love and support from the “passionate” fans of the superhero genre, claiming that he will continue to entertain them in every way possible.

“After 15 years of relentless hard work to finally make Black Adam, I'm very proud of the film we delivered for fans worldwide. I will always look back on the fan reaction to Black Adam with tremendous gratitude, humility, and love. We did great. To my very passionate and vocal Black Adam/Super Hero genre fans – I love you, THANK YOU, and I will ALWAYS LISTEN TO YOU and do my best to deliver and entertain you. Have a productive week and HAPPY HOLIDAYS to you and your families!” Johnson concluded.
The news of ‘Black Adam’ not being a part of DC’s new strategy comes to a couple of weeks after it was revealed that Henry Cavill won’t be a part of the universe anymore and won’t return as ‘Superman’. James Gunn is writing a new Superman movie that will primarily focus on the younger days of the superhero.

‘Black Adam’ released in theatres in October 2022 and opened to mixed reviews from critics. However, the movie went on to become a fan-favorite instantly and received a lot of praise for its action sequences, and performances. The movie went on to make more than $391 million globally on a production budget of $180 million, which makes people believe that it was a box-office flop. However, analysts feel that it was a success because it was able to recover the cost of production.
