However, fans of the show have always been concerned for Diez, who had cranial reconstruction surgery last season, due to his elongated skull. So when Deon noticed a bump on the side of his son's head, it was certainly causing concern. Karen noted that he bumped his head on a toy chest recently, but the parents wanted to rule out any worrisome situation. Fans were just as concerned, seeing that Diez too, was in tears over the ordeal, worried over what the bump could be.

"Awe, I hope that nothing serious is happening with Diez #TheDerricos #doublingdownwiththederricos" tweeted a fan. "Diez crying was so sad. He's been through so much at such a young age. #diez #doublingdownwiththederricos #prayersfordiez" said another. Karen wasted no time in fixing an appointment with Dr Ozaki, Deon's doctor. As they sat down with him via video call, they told Dr Ozaki about the incident with the toy case. When he asked if Diez had been displaying any odd behavior, they denied it, seeing that Diez had just cried and went about playing soon after. Dr Ozaki confirmed that there was nothing to worry about, seeing that his head was now strong and that he was just fine. Deon and Karen were relieved and so was Diez. Fans too were glad that he was okay. "The bump is nothing to worry about!  #DoublingDownWiththeDerricos @TLC" tweeted a fan. "aweee look at that smile so glad he's going to be ok! #TheDerricos #doublingdownwiththederricos" added another.
