JJ and Tylee's bodies were tragically discovered only a year later in June 2020, after a string of other questionable deaths and information coming to light that Lori and her husband Chad Daybell were involved in a doomsday prepper group.

Plot
Lifetime's synopsis for the film reads: "Doomsday Mom: The Lori Vallow Story" is based on the true story of Lori Vallow (Lauren Lee Smith), who gained national attention when her children, JJ and Tylee, were reported missing from their Idaho home in the Fall of 2019. As investigators learned of Lori and her husband Chad Daybell’s (Marc Blucas) involvement in a doomsday-prepper group, a trail of mystery was revealed spanning five states and numerous questionable deaths, before the bodies of JJ and Tylee were found in the backyard of Chad’s home in June 2020.

Lauren Lee Smith
Canadian actor Lauren Lee Smith has made a career out of crime series it seems since some of her best-known roles include playing Riley Adams in the forensics drama 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation' and Frankie Drake in the detective series 'Frankie Drake Mysteries'. She is also known for her role as Emma DeLauro in the fantasy drama 'Mutant X'. Lauren Lee Smith plays Vallow in the film.
Marc Blucas
Marc Blucas will of course always remain imprinted on the memory of fans of 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer'. Blucas played Buffy's love interest Agent Riley Finn on the show. Blucas was also part of the series 'Necessary Roughness' and prior to his acting career was an extremely proficient basketball player. Blucas is cast as doomsday prepper Daybell.

Bradley Walsh has directed the film while Stephen Tolkin has done the writing duties.
