Does ‘The Pitt’ Season 2 finale have mid-credits scene? Everything we know about medical drama's ending
The doctors and nurses at the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center are finally nearing the end of their 15-hour shift at the ER. Season 2 finale of the popular HBO Max medical drama airs tonight, Thursday. Given the real-time hour-based framing device skillfully used by the R. Scott Gemmill show, a chaotic shift at the PTMC, compounded by a ransomware attack, the arrival of ICE agents, and Dr. Al-Hashimi's tragic diagnosis, the sophomore season packed quite a few punches. All that remains now is a moment for all that catharsis to sink in.
The network has confirmed that the Season 2 finale of 'The Pitt' will feature a mid-credits scene. This is an unprecedented development on the show, since the debut season's credits rolled in the usual manner by the end of the finale episode. The mid-credits scene in the Season 2 finale, however, shouldn't be treated like the ones we are used to in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As against providing an early look into what might be expected from Season 3 of the show, the mid-credits scene in the Season 2 finale should be treated as a moment of catharsis at the end of a particularly demanding day at work. Surely enough, the 15 hours spent dealing with life-and-death decisions at the fraction of a second are certain to leave their mark on the hospital's staff.
The upcoming Season 3 of 'The Pitt' had been renewed even before the premiere of the sophomore season. Noah Wyle, who plays Dr. Robby, was in attendance at the show's recently held special screening at PaleyFest in Los Angeles and took the opportunity to reveal a few exclusive details from the third season. When asked about the timeline of the upcoming installment, Wyle noted in an interview with USA Today, "It will be pre-Thanksgiving, moving into colder weather. The holidays are approaching. The weather's changing. People are turning on their heaters for the first time." Wyle added that the third season will be "explosive," and given the high-octane, persistent drama of the HBO Max show, we might know what that means.
Season 2 has gone a long way toward establishing that overworked ER doctors might eventually be in jeopardy themselves. Coupled with his realization is Dr. Robby's steadily decreasing emotional and mental health, which has even led him to remark that he might not want to return from his bike sabbatical. At this point, Dr. Robby knows that he can't really leave PTMC behind, and yet he yearns for the hiatus every moment. While striking a balance is more difficult than it looks, Dr. Robby would have to face his demons soon enough. 'The Pitt' is exclusively available on HBO Max.
