Kevin Feige, the President of Marvel Studios, unveiled the trailer for 'Avengers: Doomsday' this Thursday at CinemaCon. The film will bring back the Avengers, and for the first time, they will fight alongside X-Men and the Fantastic Four against the formidable villain Dr. Doom. Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. will be back in prominent roles after 'Avengers: Endgame.' Evans did make a cameo appearance as Human Torch in 'Deadpool & Wolverine.' But in this film, he will wear the iconic Captain America suit, wielding his shield in one hand and Mjolnir in the other.

Since the first announcement of Robert Downey Jr. as Dr. Doom at Comic-Con 2024, the MCU fans have been waiting for the moment to see him in the green suit. Dr. Doom did feature in the end credits scene of 'Fantastic Four: First Steps,' but his face wasn't revealed. In footage unveiled at CinemaCon, fans got a glimpse of the terror this iconic villain commands. Chris Hemsworth's Thor says, "Put aside your petty squabbles. Presume nothing except this: If you return, you will return as brothers and sisters. Mark my words. We're going to need a miracle," while addressing fellow heroes about the threat.

Along with Steve Rogers, the film will also have characters from other parts of the cinematic universe. In one of the teasers released earlier, we got a glimpse of Shuri and Wakandans with Ben Grimm. While another teaser focused on the X-Men, Thor, and Steve Rogers. The cast of Avengers: Doomsday also features Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, James Marsden aka Cyclops, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, and Rebecca Romijn as Mystique from the X-Men Universe.

Previously established characters Sam Wilson, Bucky Barnes, Ant-Man, Ghost, John Walker, Loki, the Thunderbolts, and the Fantastic Four will also be alongside the Avengers. As Marvel is known for surprise cameos and character introductions, fans can expect more interesting actors and characters to appear on screen. There were speculations about the film's release date, as IMAX screens are already committed to 'Dune: Messiah.' However, the December 18 release date is now confirmed as the studio is developing its own large-format certification program called Infinity: Vision Logos.

With the rerelease of 'Avengers: Endgame' in September, Infinity: Vision Logos will make its debut as a competitor to IMAX. 'Avengers: Doomsday' is also the Russo brothers' return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They directed the last two Avengers films, both of which are among the highest-grossing films of all time. However, 'Dune: Messiah' is also scheduled for release on December 18, making it the biggest box-office clash in history.
