The footage reportedly runs for around four minutes and comes months after the film's initial footage was shown exclusively at CinemaCon. Furthermore, the clip appears unfinished, as it wasn't fully rendered, suggesting the footage was never intended for public viewing. Co-writer and producer Chris Miller has now addressed the leak. He posted on X, "Not a fan of unfinished, not fully rendered footage." His response makes clear that the leaked material is not the final version of the movie.

The leak arrives as fans continue to wait for the first official public trailer. It appears to continue the story from 'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.' Miles Morales remains trapped on Earth-42 after the previous movie's cliffhanger, with his alternate version, the Prowler, among the characters seen in the material.
Other familiar characters reportedly appear too, including Gwen Stacy, Peter B. Parker, and Spider-Punk. The footage also gives fans more glimpses of the Spider-Verse characters ahead of the trilogy's final chapter. The movie has faced several delays since its originally planned 2024 release. Sony now has 'Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse' scheduled to reach theaters on June 18, 2027.
The leak is not the first unauthorized footage problem to affect a major superhero release. 'Beyond the Spider-Verse' is expected to conclude Miles Morales' animated story. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are returning as writers and producers, with Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson directing.
For now, there is still no official trailer available. The material circulating online remains unfinished footage, and Miller's reaction suggests viewers should not treat it as the final version Sony plans to release.
