SEATTLE, WASHINGTON: During the 'Love Is Blind' Season 4 finale, Micah Lussier made a very deliberate move. In Friday's finale episode, fans got to see how Micah's love story with Paul Peden ended. As the two stood at the altar, Micah gave Paul "the opportunity" to respond first about saying "I do" — and he finally decided the moment wasn't right for him to say yes. Fans, on the other hand, noticed something strange about Micah pulling up Paul to answer first.

For every real love connection that emerges from 'Love Is Blind,' there are four horrifically poisonous partnerships that should never have happened. Still, just because a couple appears to be unsuitable for one another, doesn't imply they won't marry in the end. But, despite how crazy Season 4 was, only one couple opted to call it quits at the altar, which was probably for the best.

Why did Micah let Paul answer first?

As Micah outlines her and Paul's differences to her friends and family, the shots used on the show make it extremely clear that she's wearing white fluffy sandals on her wedding day while Paul's still wearing his hiking socks. Shelby was still present, casting Wiccan charms to ensure that the 'joyful' couple falls down the aisle or worse. An anxious Paul launches a group vote to determine whether he should marry Micah. He's still analyzing the issue, pointing out that he doesn't have the appropriate tools to determine whether to marry Micah or not.

It's too late for Paul to do a blow by blow analysis of their relationship because the wedding is approaching! When it's Micah's turn to say "I do," she flips the script on Paul, stating that she wants him to respond first. Though obviously startling, this moment is slightly dampened by the fact that we saw it in three consecutive previews previously. There are three ways to view this choice, one more compassionate than the other. First, Micah honestly second-guessed Paul's intentions and couldn't feel secure until he said "I don't". Second, she was frightened of being humiliated if she said "I do" before he said "I don't"; and lastly, she didn't want to further disgrace herself by saying no first.

If Paul wasn't sure about the connection before, his prospective bride giving him a ticking time bomb at the altar couldn't have made him feel any better. Naturally, he responds, "I don't," and Micah walks out of the room in tears. Micah then walks out, sobbing, as the camera moves to her companion Shelby, who grins, taking her pal's hand, saying, "[I feel] relieved, honestly. That's how I wanted it to go."

Paul tries to console Micah as the visitors leave, questioning why they traveled for two hours for all of this. He then explains why he said "I don't," stating that, aside from the mismatch in sentiments, he couldn't envision Micah as a "nurturing" mother.

'The dramatics are a bit overkill'

Fans felt, "Micah wanted Paul to answer first so she wouldn’t be the one to say no and could play the victim." Another person chimed in, "Micah is so funny. She said "No" the moment she asked Paul to answer first. As Paul's mother said "anything other than a "Yes" is a no”. She played the game smoothly by making that move and now she wants to be a victim. SMH." One fan also tweeted, "Clearly Micah’s answer was gonna be no. That’s why she made Paul go first, so he could be the bad guy and she could play the victim." A fourth person added, "I’m sorry but I don’t feel sorry for Micah esp after she made Paul go first. It just seems to me like she didn’t have the balls to say no like him. Plus if we’re being honest Paul dodged a bullet."

Saying she wasn't ready, a fan noted, "Paul & Micah: Oddly, Paul definitely grew on Micah. However, Micah asking him to go first, was a clear indication that she wasn’t ready. Wow, for Paul, to look at her and see there was a lack of genuineness & a nurturing side. You made the right decision, Paul." Calling the dramatics a bit overkill, a fan wrote, "I don’t believe for one second that Micah actually wanted to marry Paul. So the dramatics are a bit overkill but she has to convince people she was hurt so." Labeling it as acting, a fan wrote, "This is an Oscar worthy performance that Micah is putting on for the camera. She know damn well she didn’t want Paul. Then had the nerves to gaslight him before she run off “crying.” Micah also ended up with a moniker from a fan, "okay final episode thoughts: 1. kwame and chelsea are delusional. annul the marriage immediately. 2. micah is a master manipulator, paul dodged a bullet. 3. brett and tiff are perfect. 4. so glad bliss and zack got another chance."
