Lisa Rinna breaks silence on Colton Underwood walkout rumors after tense feud at 'The Traitors' reunion
Peacock's 'The Traitors' Season 4 is gearing up for its highly anticipated finale and reunion on Thursday, February 25. While all 12 contestants are rumored to attend the reunion, speculation is rife that Colton Underwood stormed out in anger during filming. Notably, Page Six recently reported that Underwood walked off set after a tense exchange with Lisa Rinna. Multiple sources shared that Rinna questioned Underwood about his use of the word 'hostage' when referring to her during the show. While some insiders claimed Underwood stormed off set, another source said it was an emotional walk-off that coincided with a scheduled break, adding that Underwood later returned after getting some air and water.
Now, Rinna has stepped forward to set the record straight. While promoting her memoir, 'You Better Believe I'm Going to Talk About It,' Rinna addressed rumors in an interview with Variety. Responding to reports, Rinna said that wasn't her experience, saying, "I didn't see it myself," while adding, "I saw him leave, but I saw other people leave too, to go to the bathroom and such, but it took a long time for people to come back. That I can share with you." Rinna further clarified what actually happened at the reunion, saying her exchange with Underwood was brief and misunderstood. "But let's put it on the record, because they probably won't air it, right?" Rinna shared. "I said, 'Colton, I have a question for you: What did you mean when you said, "I'm going to take her hostage?" That's all I said. And that spun him out."
Variety further reported that a source at the taping insisted Underwood 'did not storm out or spin out at any point.' Rinna also brushed off the rumors of tension with Underwood as 'silly,' stressing that 'The Traitors' is 'just a game' and sharing, 'I never meant any harm.' Hopefully, we can all have a kumbaya moment.' The tension between Rinna and Underwood boiled to the point that, 'The Bachelor' star told Variety's Emily Longeretta that his time on 'The Traitors' led to fans sending him death threats, Rinna publicly condemned the behavior. "It's just insane, and that is unnecessary," she said. "I do think that's ridiculous. I'm fine with Colton. I think Colton is also fine with me." Rinna then downplayed any lingering tension, joking that the real drama was online, sharing, "He did unfollow me on Instagram. So that is the drama. "I'm like, 'Really? Somebody unfollowed me, like a boyfriend or a girlfriend?"
Responding to the controversy, a representative for Underwood said Rinna's public comments don't reflect their private interactions. The statement reads, "Lisa has always been privately kind to Colton, which makes some of her public behavior all the more confusing, it doesn't match their private communications, and it seems like she's trying to manufacture conflict that doesn’t exist. Colton feels incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support he's received from the cast." Now that's the kind of drama we're eager to watch unfold at the reunion.
