'Dear Mama': Release date and how to watch music documentary
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: On March 22, FX aired the trailer for its new 5-part docuseries 'Dear Mama: The Story of Afeni & Tupac Shakur,' a heartfelt and thoughtful insight at the love between Tupac, the iconic musician who died in 1996 at the age of 25, and his mother, Afeni. Tupac's mother was a Black Panther and political activist who taught her beliefs of freedom, power, and revolution to her son, whom she gave birth to when she was 24 in 1971.
Tupac mentions in the old question-and-answer session, which he concluded when he was 17, that his connection with his mother was tough. While he treasured many of the things his mother taught him, she was frequently unavailable due to her activism. Moreover, as Tupac revealed in his song 'Dear Mother,' which inspired the FX series, his mother eventually fell hooked to crack cocaine, severely straining their relationship. Afeni passed away in 2016 at the age of 69.
