NBC premiered a new dancing reality program, 'Dancing With Myself,' on Tuesday, May 31, with 12 new participants each week. Marcus Mack, one of the show's first participants, dazzles both the creators and the live studio audience with his moves.

'Dancing With Myself' is a one-of-a-kind competition series in that it presents a new set of candidates every week and then reveals the winner in only one day. In each episode, 12 dancers, largely from TikTok, will compete in six rounds. At the end of each round, the public and Creators vote to eliminate two contestants. After the sixth round, the audience votes for one of the two finalists. Marcus loses the cash right before the final performance, despite cruising through the first five rounds.

Who is Marcus Mack?

Marcus Mack was ready to wow the jury and audience with his dance talents on the night. The 32-year-old is a flight attendant with contacts in the entertainment industry. Marcus Mack, originally from Riverdale, Illinois, earned a degree in Communication from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in May 2012, where he also minored in Theater. In an interview with VoyageDallas, he stated that he relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a career as an actor. Mack was then cast as Dalton Warbler in FOX's blockbuster television series 'Glee.' On the set, he gained key connections that led to employment as a supporting vocalist for musicians such as JoJo Siwa, Faith Evans, and Kelly Rowland. With things not going exactly as planned, he decided to pursue a job that would allow him to go on auditions while also earning some additional money. As a result, he became a flight attendant. He relocated to Dallas in 2021 to start over. He is still a flight attendant and a model on the side. Mack is a fantastic singer and dancer who debuted on the first episode of 'Dancing With Myself.'

A step away from the final

Along with Marcus Mack, 11 other dancers were featured on the first episode of 'Dancing With Myself,' which aired on NBC at 10 pm ET on Tuesday, May 31. The contestants demonstrate their dance abilities from their pods in the hopes of acing the six challenges. Marcus captivated both the Creators and the live studio audience from the start. After the first round, "All Eyes on You," he became one of Shakira's favorite picks, as she calls his dancing "sick" and jokes about how his dance causes her to stand up straight. He gets to the next level despite losing against Caitlyn in the "Freestyle Battle Round" as the Creators spare him from elimination.

After a convincing victory in "The Dance Along," he is teamed with fellow Aussie contender Smac in "Duo Collabs." The duo performs one of the most exciting acts of the night, immediately impressing the Creators. Despite losing the public vote, the Creators opted to keep the pair and put them through "The Shake-Up." In this round, Marcus, Tyra, Smac, and Jeremy all dance at the same time to Olivia Rodrigo's "Good for you," with routines given by the presenter, Camille Kostek, as they encounter a new twist. They were forced to include a chair into their regimen. The crowd then votes for Tyra and Smac to go to the finals. As Marcus loses the prize money so close to the show's finale, first-time viewers flocked to social media to express their anguish. One of them tweeted: "Marcus Def should have moved on to the finale!! #DancingWithMyself"

One fan wrote: "FIRST OFF!!!!!!!!! Marcus definitely should’ve made it to that final round #dancingwithmyself"

Another shocked fan wrote: "Marcus didn’t make it and he hit the cry baby (effortlessly) on national television? #DancingWithMyself"
