'Crisis on Infinite Earths' Part 2: Is this the part where Lyla's Harbinger switches sides and kills The Monitor?

In the comics, The Harbinger eventually yields to The Anti-Monitor and this is the same treatment done in the episode as he teleports her to his lair.

There's trouble brewing in the heroes' camp. The Anti-Monitor makes an appearance in the final minutes of the episode and he has a new ally whom he has managed to rope in forcefully — Lyla Michaels aka The Harbinger (Audrey Marie Anderson).

In Season 8 Episode 7 of ‘Arrow,’ Lyla Michaels accepts a destiny that’s been a long time coming. Appearing for the first time way back in Season 1 of ‘Arrow’, her name was immediately recognized by fans of the comics as belonging to The Harbinger, an ally of The Monitor in the fight to save the multiverse from The Anti-Monitor. For years, as she went on to become an integral part of the series, fans have kept a close eye for any mentions, or references that tie Lyla to her comic-book counterpart but would have to wait until this season for that to happen.

In the comics, The Harbinger eventually yields to The Anti-Monitor and this is the same treatment done in the episode as he teleports her to his lair. According to the comics, she was used to kill The Monitor, only to find out that the latter had intended that The Harbinger will kill him so that he could activate the machines and shunt the Earths 1 and 2 universes into a Netherverse where they would be safe from the anti-matter wave. At the moment, it is unclear if this is how the tale ends, but it is a definite possibility as the heroes are still in Earth-1.

The episode also gives us the first look at The Anti-Monitor (played by LaMonica Garrett) as he outlines his intentions. Looks like he appeared well before Part 3, the episode fans hoped would be his first introduction in the Arrowverse.

What are your thoughts on Lyla going against the Monitor?

'Crisis on Infinite Earths' Part 3 airs on Tuesday, December 10, at 8 pm on The CW.
