With BTS breaking records and making history just with two singles in 2021, it was no secret that they would go on to reach many more milestones once their ‘Permission To Dance On Stage’ concert series began. They became the first act ever to have four sold-out concerts at SoFi stadium in LA. The ‘PTD On Stage - LA’ concerts grossed over $33.3 million as BTS sold over 214k tickets. And it looks like BTS’ Seoul concerts saw similar success.

BTS was thrilled to announce that after two years, they would finally be holding concerts in their home country marking the end of their mini-hiatus. ARMY all over the world was excited and happy for the boys. Additionally, to thank international fans, the concerts would also be broadcast online with Day 2 of the ‘PTD On Stage - Seoul’ concert set to be live-streamed in theatres worldwide. 2.42 million viewers joined in total while 1.4 million single-handedly watched it in theatres.

BTS’ earns 100 billion won for Seoul concerts

A day after BTS’ ‘PTD On Stage - Seoul’ 3-day concert ended, reports announced that the theatrical live-viewing event had grossed over $32.6 million and earned many firsts. It became the first Korean live event to be broadcast in cinemas worldwide with over 75 countries participating. Furthermore, it became the highest-grossing live event with a cinematic release. And now, it has been reported that the total revenue of the hybrid 3-day concert has gone over 100 billion won (~$82.2 million).

Korean media were confident that if they included the sales of official concert merch, the total revenue would go over 100 billion won. It should be noted that while the Olympic Park stadium could hold over 75k attendees, due to the pandemic restrictions, they were allowed to only have 15k seats. Jin had also previously shared that they had gone into organizing the 3-day concert with the mindset that ‘PTD On Stage - Seoul’ would be a financial loss since they anyway had to book the stadium at the original rate.

'It means fans missed BTS that much'

Touched by Jin’s words, it looks like the fans had BTS’ back. Knetizens made posts like, “Wow, BTS is really on another level. The company should treat the members well.” Another joked, “Should I buy shares of HYBE?…. BTS is amazing….” One ARMY commented, “I was worried about the deficit, but I'm glad.” Another connected the dots, “It means fans missed BTS that much and wanted to do a face-to-face concert…”

Another flexed, “Even with the limited allowed seats BTS still made 100 BILLION won on their 3 day concert in Seoul… the fking legends that they are holy fck.” One fan added, “Who’s surprised? Not me.” Another ARMY said, “My boyfriends are rich iktr.”
