Covid in K-pop: TXT’s Yeonjun is latest idol to fall sick, fans say 'feel better soon'
While BTS’ Jimin and 2AM’s Jo Kwon have recovered from Covid-19, more K-pop idols are testing positive every week. In the third week of February, ten idols have tested positive, including three Itzy members, BTS’ V, Ateez’s San, Cravity’s Wonjin and BTOB’s Eunkwang. Now, TXT’s Yeonjun is the latest idol to succumb to Covid.
On February 17, there were several cases of possible Covid-19 infections among idols like (G)I-DLE’s Miyeon, Cherry Bullet’s Haeyoon and Super Junior’s Kyuhyun. They had tested positive with the self-test kit and were waiting for the PCR tests to confirm the diagnosis. While Seoul has implemented stricter social distancing measures due to the Omicron outbreak in the new year, idols are allowed to continue with their busy gigs in crowded places. 26 idols have fallen sick with Covid in the second week of February alone.

TXT’s Yeonjun gets Covid-19
On February 17, BigHit shared that TXT’s Yeonjun had ended up testing positive for Covid-19. The label shared that the K-pop idol had been complaining of a headache since February 12 and was feeling unwell. Fans had noticed that he was missing from the group's VLive for Valentine's Day. He had immediately taken a PCR test that had come back negative. However, he had been quarantined as a precaution and was away from the other TXT members. Yeonjun started getting more symptoms like a mild fever and sore throat and took another PCR test on February 16.
On February 17, this test came back positive and Yeonjun has been diagnosed with Covid-19 now. The TXT member has taken both vaccine doses and has no other symptoms. He is being quarantined and relying on home treatments rather than going to the hospital as the symptoms are mild. Yeonjun and member Kai came online and asked fans not to worry too much as he was recovering well.
