'Counting On' couple Jessa Seewald and Ben Seewald welcome baby boy after miscarriage
TONTITOWN, ARKANSAS: The 'Counting On' star Jessa Seewald and her husband Ben Seewald welcome their 5th child on December 19, 2023, after a miscarriage she suffered in late 2022.
She took to Instagram, to announce the birth of her fifth baby. She wrote,
"Baby is here and we couldn’t be more grateful!"
Congratulatory comments dropped in as people were really happy for the couple.
One of them wrote, "Congratulations on your new addition Seewald family!.
Another stated, "Congratulations! Praying for a smooth transition for all. What a sweet blessing."
She posted her birth vlog on Youtube where she started by narrating that she would be 39 weeks pregnant the following day with her baby and that she would love to go to labour. She further narrates how anxious she gets the closer it gets to the birth.
On Monday, December 18, morning she informed that she was having contractions and started packing the hospital bag. Later in the evening when her contractions increased she rushed to the hospital around 5:40 pm. She also had a midwife who helped her cope amid delivery.
Around 2:45 am, her water broke and she asked for her doctor. With over 21 hours in labor, she seemed already tired. Around 3:24 am, she gave birth to her baby boy.
She ended the vlog on a sweet note and said "The sweetest moment was when they raised the baby and put it on me and just held him there. I think there were so many emotions, so many things you're processing. It's been a year since we lost our last baby and it's a flood of emotions."

Jessa Seewald and Ben Seewald are blessed with five beautiful children, Spurgeon, Henry, Ivy, and Fern.
The couple welcomed their first child, son Spurgeon in November 2015, just a few days after their first marriage anniversary. She went through a difficult 48-hour labor during his birth. Spurgeon is currently 8 years old. He was named after the British preacher, Charles Spurgeon.
Their second son, Henry who is currently 6 years old was born in February 2017. This was followed by their daughter, Ivy in May 2019.
Unfortunately, Jessa suffered a miscarriage in 2020, in July 2021, they welcomed their fourth child, Fern in July 2021.
She did suffer another miscarriage in 2022, and in September 2023, she announced that baby no. 5 was on its way. On December 19, 2023, Jessa gave birth to her baby boy.

Jessa Seewald suffered her first miscarriage in 2020 before the birth of their fourth child, Fern.
However, in 2022, she suffered another miscarriage which she documented on her YouTube channel. Jessa mentioned that early on in pregnancy she was already spotting blood and that was not a good sign. With the next ultrasound, the doctor confirmed that the baby was not looking good. She then went to the hospital where she had her fetus removed due to complications.
She broke down and stated that she would need time off social media to get over the incident.

Jessa Seawald married Ben Seewald on November 2, 2014, at the First Baptist Church in Bentonville, Arkansas. Jessa was just 21 years old and Ben was 19 at the time they got married.
While courting, Jessa and Ben did have some rules, they shared their first kiss on their wedding day and held hands for the first time when they got engaged on August 4, 2014.
