Who are the Khoundaras?

Avery Khoundara is an 11-year-old dance enthusiast, who hails from Phoenix, Arizona. He has been dancing since a young age, when he was even younger than he already is! Avery has been a part of The Tempe Dance Academy and his mentor here is Wanda Manville, an 80-year-old visionary. Avery won the title of Master Dance of America, a Ballet, Jazz & Tap Intensive, in 2020.

Avery will be competing on the show alongside his daddy dearest, Jack Khoundara, a network engineer and fellow dance lover. The family of five sure are beyond excited for their boy's journey!

In one of the promo clips of the CBS show, Avery says, "My dad has done so much for me, it makes me feel accepted". It's heartwarming to see Jack as his support system even as they get on stage to compete.

In addition to having a passion for the artform, Avery was given the opportunity of a lifetime with a scholarship to Steps on Broadway’s Summer Intensive. What's more, this young man bagged the Outstanding Dancer award at NYCDA Phoenix, AND a tap dance scholarship too.

On all his dance-related posts on Instagram, he always uses the hashtag "#boysdancetoo". How rightly said! Do you think it will catch on after the show premieres?

Avery has been trained in ballet since he was little. Today, the older brother to two other siblings, also supports his younger brother, who has also joined the Tempe Dance Academy, to show off his moves.

'Come Dance With Me' premieres on April 15, 2022, at 8/7c, on CBS. The show will be available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+.
