Coldplay call BTS ‘our little brothers’ as 'My Universe' gets 100 No 1s on iTunes
It looks like BTS and Coldplay’s ‘My Universe’ is becoming the biggest collaboration of the year. The song has continued to chart high on several platforms even days after its release. It is still in the top 10 of several Billboard charts. And now, it has been reported that the single has gotten its 100th #1 on iTunes Top Songs Chart. This is BTS 14th song and 15th song in general to achieve this milestone. It is also the second collab in history following ‘Chicken Noodle Soup’ by J-hope and Becky G, to get #1 on iTunes in 100 countries.
And it doesn’t look like fans are ready to let go of this song anytime soon. In fact, we got producer Suga to make a comeback as the BTS member released a remix for ‘My Universe’. ARMY loved the remix as he took the quintessential Coldplay song and added his signature style, especially the beats during the chorus. The remix is also charting as it is #5 on US iTunes, #2 on Worldwide iTunes, and #3 on European iTunes. At the same time, fans love the wholesome interaction between Coldplay and BTS.

Chris initially didn’t know what the song would be about. But while texting someone close, the phrase “my universe” popped up. When he then heard a chorus made by his friend, he immediately associated it with BTS. Chris explained, “[‘My Universe’] is about how people say certain people shouldn’t be together. Or love is difficult because of a border, or because of a racial difference, or whatever it might be.” They first hashed it out on Zoom and then Coldplay flew to South Korea to record together. Chris also ended up calling the collab “natural and organic.”
'Love that for them'
And fans are happy that the two acts got to collaborate together. They ended up trending ‘BTS and Coldplay’ with tweets like, “This is my favorite BTS collab as well. Yall are amazing musicians and it’s been incredibly fun seeing BTS and Coldplay work together with so much mutual appreciation and respect. Thank you for such a good song.” Another fan posted, “Bts and Coldplay in a nutshell : - You're the best - No, YOU're the best - Take it back, YOU're the best - NO, YOU-.” Another added, “We are like, one, maybe two tweet threads away from BTS and Coldplay going “no you hang up first!” and I love that for them.” One commented, “Why does BTS and coldplay interactions feel like 2 people with crushes.”
