‘My Universe’: BTS makes Billboard history again, ARMY call them ‘legends’
BTS continues to make history on every platform. Just last week, it was announced that their collaborative track ‘My Universe’ with Coldplay had hit #1 on Billboard Hot 100. This made BTS the artist with the most #1 hits on the chart this decade. They had also become the first group or band that had the highest #1 debuts on the chart. They even entered the same league as The Beatles by closely following the British band for the shortest time to hit six #1s on the chart. And now once again, they have made history on another Billboard chart.
The single is also the first collaboration between two leading groups in history to debut at #1. And with Billboard updating their charts for this week, they revealed on October 11 that ‘My Universe’ had ranked at #12 on the Hot 100 chart. But that’s not what ARMY had their eyes on. Additionally, the digital single is also #1 on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart. This is the second week in a row that the single has topped this particular chart. It has also led to BTS making history once more.

BTS make history on Billboard once again
With ‘My Universe’ at #1 on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart twice in a row, it has made BTS the artist with the most #1s on this particular chart. The global K-pop group has now spent 45 weeks on the chart at the #1 rank. Previously, this record was held by Taylor Swift for spending 44 weeks on the chart. ‘My Universe’ is also #1 on Billboard’s Hot Alternative Songs chart and Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart. It is also the week’s top-selling song. On top of that, it is still on the Global 200 Excl. US chart at #3 and the Global 200 at #5.
At the same time, Jimin extended his own record on the iTunes chart with ‘Filter’. The ever-popular solo song that was released in 2020 first made history by becoming the b-side with the most #1s on iTunes last month. It had topped the chart in 114 countries. And on October 12, the song hit #1 on Japan’s iTunes. This has gotten ‘Filter’ its 115th #1 on the iTunes Top Songs Chart.
‘Another legendary moment’
Happy fans have been trending BTS to celebrate the achievement. ARMY made tweets like, “Legends did that.” Another added, “Another legendary moment!!! Legendary achievements from legendary group — BTS.” One commented, “'BTS is the first artist to'...whenever I read those words, it always makes me so proud they deserve the world.” Another shared, “Congratulations Boys, I love you and so proud of you guys.” One ARMY joked, “Looks like it’s still construction season as BTS are still paving.”
