Will Smith as producer for 'Cobra Kai' is major bragging rights for Mary Mouser, who plays Samantha LaRusso on the show

'Cobra Kai' Season 3 was renewed for a third season last week and it wasn't just the audience who were stoked when they heard the news. Mary Mouser who plays Samantha LaRusso, one of the young central characters, was just as pleased when she heard the news. Talking exclusively to MEA WorldWide (MEAWW),  Mouser also spoke about how excited she was when she heard that Will Smith was a producer on the show.

Mouser said that she first found out that Smith was one of the producers of 'Cobra Kai' after she saw a post on Instagram. "I was just going through Instagram and I saw a picture of myself, and I was like Oh hey that's my face on somebody's Instagram. I clicked on it and the profile said Will Smith and I was like NO way! And I when I looked at it, it was like there was this huge mural which his team had made and my face was on it," she explained.

"This is like major bragging rights for a long time."

Will Smith, on his Instagram, put up a picture of a mural that was painted with the characters of 'Cobra Kai' while thanking the team (Overbrook) and signing off that there would be more to come in 2020.

Incidentally, Will Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, were part of the team that produced 'Karate Kid' in 2010, a part of 'The Karate Kid' series, starring stars Jaden Smith, Taraji P. Henson and Jackie Chan in lead roles. Creators John Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Josh Heald will helm the third season again.

The show will see Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) reprise their roles as the main protagonists while the return of John Kreese (Martin Kove) in the second season makes him the antagonist.

'Cobra Kai' Season 3 is slated to release in September 2020. YouTube Premium,  the streaming service also announced that the 30-minute show will not need a paid subscription to be accessed.
