Chubby Buttons turns down Kevin O'Leary's deal, 'Shark Tank' fans find product pricey and 'gimmicky'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Shark Tank' returns with a fresh episode this week. A new product, the Chubby Buttons Wearable Remote for Phone, was introduced. The founders of this gear were hunting for a shark to bite and offered $250,000 for 8%. Despite having to pass down Shark Kevin O'Leary's royalty offer, viewers appear to be unhappy with the costly tech product.
Despite its amusing moniker, the Chubby Buttons Wearable Remote for Phone appears to have a real function. Justin Barad and Mike Cherkezian, two friends, founded the firm. Chubby Buttons are smartphone accessories that allow users to access and manage their devices while wearing thick gloves. Even with so many features, fans can't seem to justify the product's price.

Shark Kevin offers a royalty deal
Chubby Buttons is a gadget featuring large or "chubby" buttons that may be installed or connected to smooth surfaces such as vehicles, motorcycles, arms, and even handlebars. The item is extremely thin, reusable, and washable. The wearable or stacking Bluetooth remote or chubby buttons are available in three colors: gray, blue and white, and olive green, and cost $74.99 a piece.
Shark Kevin jumps in when Sharks Barbara Corcoran, Robert Herjavec, and Lori Greiner drop out of the deal. He offers the business a $2 royalty arrangement. The company refused because they believed it would bankrupt them.
'Awful product'
Finding the product ridiculously priced, a fan wrote on Reddit, "$80?! This looks like something gimmicky I would buy at Five Below." Unimpressed by the tech, another Redditor wrote, "Wow, that is like 1980s technology." Another person added, "He said Pilots are using it, wait...what? Cant wait for next time when I fly, the pilot is listing to music on his earbuds. What a selling point." Further slamming the product, a fan wrote, "Awful product, even with tech like hey siri being iffy at times."
'Shark Tank' Season 14 airs every Friday at 8/7c on ABC. Missed an episode? Been wanting to catch up? Episodes can also be viewed the next day on demand and on Hulu. Not just that, you can also watch old seasons and episodes on Amazon Prime Video and iTunes.
