Now, DuVernay is back with a new show that will premiere on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) centered around black love. Each episode will focus on a single day in the couple's relationship. Read on to know more details.
Release date
The first season will consist of eight episodes and will premiere on OWN on February 11. From February 12, the episodes will air weekly on Wednesday nights.
Plot
Each season will tell the story of one couple. The first season will focus on Gently James and Evan Fisher, a young couple who meet and fall in love in Los Angeles. As mentioned, each episode will chronicle the events of a day. The first season will tell Gently and Evan's story over a period of five years.
Gently James is a live-in assistant for Miss Luma Lee Langston, a renowned star of stage and screen of years past. Gently is encouraged by Miss Langston to enter into a romance with Evan. Evan's mother is, however, disapproving of his relationship with Gently.
