'Charmed' season 2 episode 1: Whitelighter Harry Greenwood will have a major story to tell after that mindblowing reveal
Spoiler Alert for 'Charmed' Season 2 on The CW.
In the first season of the 'Charmed' reboot, we did learn a lot about Whitelighter Harry Greenwood's human life. We learn about how he lived and how he died and that he had a son. We even met his son who is now a senior citizen. We also learn that he had feelings for Charity and dated Fiona. In season 2, as the premiere episode featured a mindblowing reveal, we might learn more about Harry.
When the sisters are attacked by a mysterious hooded demon in the premiere episode, Harry stays behind to give the sisters enough time to escape through an emergency portal that opened after the Book of Shadows was destroyed. We learn later on that he was killed but was surprisingly resurrected -- this was not heard of before. When Harry's connection to the Elders was stripped in the last season (due to his affair with Fiona), it also meant that he survived when the other Whitelighters did not. Harry comes back just in time to absorb the poison from Macy (that got into her from the demon's weapon) and to tell the sisters they would have to start over in Seattle.
In the closing moments of the episode, we learn something even more shocking -- something that has shaken up Harry a lot. Just before he was stabbed by the demon, Harry manages to take the mask off, only to realize that the face behind the mask is his own. Throughout the episode, Macy has hallucinations of Harry, being affected by the demon's poison. However, the Harry she sees is not the one we know, rather he gives off mysterious, bad boy-like vibes. This makes more sense when the reveal about the demon being "Harry" comes about.
During the New York Comic-Con this year, we were also told that we will learn more about the Whitelighters' history. Harry will certainly be investigating how he could end up being evil -- if his power can be corrupted enough to make him turn into a demon and this might be how we learn more about how Whitelighters are made. The Charmed Ones will also want to learn how to make more Whitelighters since there is no one besides Harry left.
In the promotional photos of Harry from Season 2, we also see his wardrobe has changed. No more stuffy suits, he starts dressing like a normal thirty-something-year-old in the 21st century -- this might be Harry trying to hide his identity or may also be part of an inner identity crisis he goes through. Either way, we could get to see what Harry is outside of his role as the Whitelighter to the Charmed Ones, and more excitedly for many fans, how a potential relationship with Macy could look like.
'Charmed' airs on The CW on Friday nights.
