The premise of 'Star Trek' was a utopian future, where humanity had rebuilt itself after enormous strife and turmoil. In this spirit, CBS All Access announced a free Star Trek marathon to support the Black Lives Matter cause. The #StarTrekUnited campaign attempts to bring  'Star Trek' creator Gene Roddenberry's vision of a better future into the turbulent present day.

On their official Twitter handle, the network tweeted, "Starfleet is a promise. Nobody gets left behind. For every person who tweets #StarTrekUnitedGives today, $1 will be donated to support the Black Lives Matter movement."

For every fan that tweets using the hashtag #StarTrekUnitedGives, a $1 donation will be made to organizations supporting the Black Lives Matter movement. The organizations include the Black Strategy Fund, Movement for Black Lives, and Black Lives Matter.

From June 17, 15 'Star Trek' episodes described as culturally relevant are to stream for one week at CBS.com

Fans are overwhelmed and have been tweeting for the cause. "Star Trek has been a part of so many of my best memories. Today they’re giving back to my community and you can help. For every person who tweets #StarTrekUnitedGives  today, $1 will be donated to support the Black Lives Matter movement."

"Thank you @StarTrek for always representing a more beautiful future, and using your platform and finances for good with #StarTrekUnitedGives  m@startrekcbs, we appreciate your support of #BlackLivesMatter!! Live long and prosper," another wrote.

"I am so great full that I grew up watching Star Trek, I learned a lot of valuable lessons from what could have easily been just another silly show #StarTrekUnitedGives," a fan wrote, sharing a video of Captain Picard's (Patrick Stewart) best speeches.

"Pretty cool of @CBSAllAccess to give $1 to #BLM #BlackLivesMatter orgs for every person who tweets using the hashtag #StarTrekUnitedGives, at least for today," a fan tweeted.

"Star Trek has always been a #optomistic view of a world I want to live in. Thank you @CBSAllAccess
for helping in little ways #StarTrekUnitedGives," another wrote.

"#StarTrekUnited what a great campaign. Make it so," a fan tweeted.
