While most people considered her mother, Casey Anthony, responsible for the murder, the details of the killer are still unknown. The case was peculiar, with many theories and twists along the way. The two-year-old Caylee was reported missing in July 2008. Casey was arrested and charged in connection to her disappearance, and later, again for her death, when Caylee's remains were discovered in December. During the ensuing trial, Casey’s entire life was examined.
Everyone from her parents, friends, and even her boyfriend, were all called to the stand to testify. Her then-boyfriend Anthony "Tony" Lazzaro was also a key witness in the case since the mother of the slain toddler had been dating him weeks before Caylee’s disappearance. It was also with Lazzaro, with whom Casey had been staying during the time Caylee was missing. Now that Peacock is set to release a new documentary featuring the story of the murder of Caylee from her mother's point of view, many have been wondering about what happened to Lazzaro after the case was closed. Who was Tony Lazzaro, and what is he doing now?
Lazzaro was Casey's boyfriend before Caylee went missing. Lazzaro and Casey had been dating for a few weeks prior to Caylee’s disappearance and Casey had been living with him around the time. During his testimony, he revealed that he and Casey met through Facebook. He also said that they hit it off immediately and that he even had a good relationship with Caylee. Lazzaro admitted that Casey never told him about the toddler’s disappearance. He said her personality hadn’t changed at all while she was missing. But he also noted that Casey had displayed good parenting skills and given an example when she disciplined her daughter "like any mother would do" when Caylee had ventured too close to the pool.
It is not known when the two broke up, but it was sometime around the trial. According to Riverhead News-Review, Lazzaro moved back to Shoreham, New York, after graduating from Full Sail University in 2009. He has lived under the radar after testifying at Casey's trial in 11 years ago. In 2018, his close friend Cameron Campana revealed that Lazzaro was married and working in construction.

Before Casey dated Lazzaro, she was reportedly engaged to Jesse Grund. Casey’s former fiance testified in the trial and revealed that she once told him her brother Lee Anthony had groped her while sleeping. During much of her pregnancy and nearly all of Caylee’s life, he assumed the role of her father after Casey told him that she was his, even though the timing of her conception didn’t exactly align with their relationship. Eventually, a DNA test confirmed that he was not the father.

Many rumors had been swirling about Casey’s dating and love life. After the trial and her acquittal from the charges against her, Casey’s life was still under the radar as her every move had been closely observed. While some claimed that Casey had started dating the lead investigator of her case, Patrick McKenna, some say that he is only a friend. But ever since her acquittal, McKenna has let Casey stay with him in Florida. He was one of the people who believed that "the most hated mom in America" was innocent. He even reportedly helped her launch a photography business. McKenna then helped Casey launch a private detective agency when that business failed to take off. Casey apparently still lives with him.
In 2019, Radar Online reported that Casey had been spotted getting cozy with a new man. The pair were spotted cozying up to one another at Bru's Room in West Palm Beach. The man was revealed as Antony Karagiannis, a bar employee. "Her past is none of my business. I don’t know anything about it," he told the outlet. Karagiannis also discussed his relationship with Casey and what he thought of her when they first met. "She's very friendly," he said. "When I first met her, I knew the name, but I never really read into it. I don't really care," Karagiannis added. He too has a daughter of his own and is a single father. But apparently, he seems to have a sketchy past as well. Karagiannis was reported for posing as a cop numerous times at his ex-girlfriend's apartment complex in West Palm Beach. He devised the plan to score parking spots.
Karagiannis and Casey had stirred relationship rumors in 2019, but details about his current relationship status with Casey have not been confirmed. It is unclear if the two are still dating or if Casey has a new love interest as of now.
