Who was Caylee Anthony's father? Paternity of Casey Anthony's daughter still remains mystery
More than 10 years after being acquitted, Casey Anthony is once again the subject to media scrutiny thanks to a new documentary 'Casey Anthony: Her Friends Speak'. The REELZ show that will be released on December 26, 2021, uses archival footage of the mom, as well as interviews with her friends and family to relook the shocking case around the death of Caylee Anthony. Amongst the many aspects explored is the identity of the father, which to this date has remained a closely guarded secret.
Over a decade since the case, Anthony's parents George and Cindy Anthony are still haunted by the tragedy that struck the family. Meanwhile, Casey herself appears to have moved on. In 2018, it was revealed she was ready to have more kids, with friends noting "she doesn't care what you or I or anyone else thinks." It's unclear if she ever did, with Casey now living a low-key life in Florida where she was last reported to be dating a man in 2018 who was able to "overlook her past".

While America may have moved on from Casey's shocking case and its gory details, clearly there's still some appetite to know more. The documentary is set to release on December 26 on REELZ, but Radar has already had access to an exclusive clip, which delves into one of the biggest questions that was never answered - who was Caylee's dad?
Who fathered Caylee Anthony?
Several close friends of Casey sat down to talk about her for the interview, revealing she was a "very outgoing" person who was "nice to pretty much everybody." Jonathan Daly, a longtime friend who grew up with Casey remarked, "It was a surprise for everyone when she got pregnant, which is why I don't think anybody knew until she was a few months along." When asked who the father was Daly replied, "I don't think anyone knows. I don't know that she knows."
That last line does appear to have some truth to it, based on reports that Casey was not seriously seeing anybody at the time, but she reportedly dated several guys. It's unclear who all, but names such as Jesus Ortiz, Eric Baker, and Jesse Grund have been floated both during and after the trial. Of course, there's no way to confirm if any of them were the dad, but she's been linked to them all, so it could be possible one of them is.
Daly went on to say, "If anyone knows, they're not talking. None of us ever knew." Even during the highly publicized trial, the subject of Caylee's father never really came up. The only time it did, was when Casey's then-attorney Jose Baez implied her brother Lee could have been the father. While that theory fell flat, others continue to circulate, but with little evidence. As one of Casey's friends revealed, "She doesn’t talk about it. She will never tell anyone. She’ll take that secret to the grave."
The only time Casey was alleged to be involved in a relationship was with Baez. In 2016, private investigator Dominic Casey alleged that Baez conceded to having a sexual relationship with Casey, but those allegations appear to have come only after Baez was hired to represent Casey in court. In any case, Baez strongly denied the allegations, telling PEOPLE, "I unequivocally and categorically deny exchanging sex for legal services with Ms. Anthony. I further unequivocally and categorically deny having any sexual relationship with Ms. Anthony whatsoever."
Beyond that, Casey's personal life remained a deep mystery to even her closest friends, as the REELZ documentary reveals. And it appears it will be a mystery that will never be solved.
