A perfectly manicured lawn, with trimmed hedges and fresh flower beds, wouldn't come off as your everyday crime scene. But things are not always what they seem. When you're trying to get some gardening done, what are the chances you unearth more than just soil. Oxygen's famed series, 'Buried in the Backyard' is returning with more true-crimes stories about unfortunate victims, whose remains were found buried in the least expected location - the backyard. Here is everything you need to know about the new season.

Release date

'Buried in the Backyard' Season 3 premieres September 3 at 8 pm ET/PT exclusively on Oxygen.

Plot

'Buried in the Backyard' examines true-crime cases of victims whose remains were found hidden in quintessential idyllic places. It chronicles the investigation, as police work to piece together the identity of the victim, determine their cause of death and any other information that could be potential clues that could lead them to the perpetrator of the crime. The series also features captivating dramatizations of what might have transpired while the crime was committed, real-life footage from the case as well as intimate conversations with friends and family of the victims. Each stand-alone episode spans an hour, where investigators get to the bottom of the 'what', 'when', 'why', 'how' and 'who', giving viewers a spine-chilling account of the tale.

The exhilarating Season 3 will also explore special themed programming like 'Buried in the Woods' and 'Buried in the House'. In the season premiere, 'Blood in the Backyard', a grieving father's world is flipped upside down, when he finds blood in his backyard, following the disappearance of his wife, Bonnie Gamboa, and their newborn. Investigators are on a mission to get to the bottom of the case and it is a race against time to bring the mother and child home before its too late. However, an astonishing plot twist, unexpected suspects and a motive derived by deception and lies leave investigators and family members shocked beyond their belief.
