BTS enters Guinness World Records Hall Of Fame, here's how many records they have
As the BTS fandom keeps growing and amidst the boy band amassing more and more dedicated fans, their list of achievements keeps increasing. Over the past few years, BTS has pocketed a lot of “first-ever” titles like being the “first-ever K-pop group to perform at the Grammy’s” or the “first-ever Korean act to be invited to speak at the United Nations General Assembly.”
Making every new achievement stand out more than their previous, BTS has set a new record for themselves. Guinness World Records Hall of Fame has now listed BTS for 23 World Records as they join the Hall of Fame for the year 2022. On September 2, Guinness World Records announced that BTS has collected a jaw-dropping 23 records titles across music and social media which is an amazing result achieved also with thanks to the enthusiasm of ARMY.

BTS previous records
In the year 2021, BTS’ single ‘Butter’ started trending all over TikTok while hits like ‘Dynamite’, ‘Boy With Luv’ and ‘Mic Drop’ shattered the charts and were immediately recognized by the crowds all over the world. As of today, BTS is the most streamed group on Spotify, beating the British band Coldplay which fans of both groups are hoping to see a collaboration soon.
BTS also is the most followed music group on Instagram. As for Twitter records, BTS’ official accounts snatched the most Twitter engagements in terms of average retweets for a music group and it is a record that they themselves have topped four times. It proves that BTS is really their own competition.
2022 Guinness World Records
On the Guinness World Records, BTS grabbed a total of five records for their May 2021 single ‘Butter’ which holds the record for the most number of viewers for its premiere of a music video on YouTube which was previously held by BTS’ themselves for their single, ‘Dynamite’ and ‘Butter’ is the most streamed track on Spotify in the first 24 hours.
More of their records are having the most viewed YouTube video in 24 hours by a K-Pop group with ‘Butter’, being the fastest account to reach one million followers on Tiktok having 40 million followers on the platform at present. They also hold the record for the most number of tickets sold for a live-streamed concert which counts up to 756,000.
BTS meets Coldplay
One of the most interesting collaborations of this century was BTS fans discovering something in the works between the boy band and Coldplay. Fans of BTS are aware of how members of the group are influenced by their veterans, Coldplay. As soon as they started suspecting something in the works, both fandoms starting interacting on Twitter and got to know each other's groups. News of collaboration has not been released yet but fans are hopeful for one.
What we know so far is that BTS is set to appear on a special episode of YouTube Originals’ weekly music series “Released” on Thursday, September 9 at 11:45 pm ET. The band will be joined by Coldplay’s frontman, Chris Martin, for a conversation on what inspired the #PermissiontoDance challenge on YouTube Shorts and a discussion on other topics. The special episode will also feature a selection of Shorts from the challenge created by BTS fans around the world including the US, India, Russia, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and others.
