BTS V to make his solo debut soon, lyricist Kim Eana reveals working on upcoming album
BTS is going solo and it seems like after rapper J-Hope, OST King BTS V aka Kim Taehyung will be releasing his solo album next. BTS members released a pre-recorded live video on the occasion of their ninth debut anniversary on Jun 14 and it seems like everyone in the world immediately went feral. The boy group revealed that the anniversary came as a bittersweet moment for them as their decade-long accommodation contracts with their dorm owners had expired, adding that BTS members were moving out of the dorms to start their new lives by living alone.
RM had stated that since the boys were 25 to 30 years old, it was right for them to move out of the shared dorms and live independently as the grown men that they were. The members also stated that they were now trying to move onto a new chapter of their journey as artists. Over the last nine years, BTS members kept their focus only on the group, but now they want to try out new things and also work on solo projects, they said. As soon as this was announced, reports about new solo activities from BTS members were released.

BTS V in talks with lyricist Kim Eana for his solo album
Soon, J-Hope became the first member to announce a solo album. It was revealed that J-Hope aka Jung Hoseok/Hobi will release his solo debut album in July this year. Fans were already excited but now it has come to light that BTS V might be the next BTS member to make his solo debut. In a video that is going viral, popular Korean lyricist Kim Eana revealed he had discussions with BTS V about working on his upcoming album.
Kim Eana has written songs for artists like IU (Lee Ji-eun) as well as NCT among other SM Entertainment artists. In the now-viral clip, she reveals that South Korean ballad singer Park Hyo-shin - who is close with BTS V - had asked her if he could share her number with BTS V. Apparently, he wanted to discuss some lyrics with her and she had also received some demos from Taehyung. BTS' V is a leading vocal today and fans have no doubt that anything he releases will be an overnight hit.
Other solo projects from BTS V
Over the last few years, V has been dubbed as the OST King of BTS all thanks to the many OSTs he participated in outside of his work with the Big Hit Music boy group. BTS V started his solo music journey when he released the SoundCloud single 'Winter Bear.' His first K-drama OST was for the show 'Hwarang: Poet, Warrior, and Youth' where he sang a duo - 'It's Definitely You' with BTS' Jin. He also sang the OST for his friend and actor Park Seo-joon's 2020 K-drama 'Itaewon Class', and then continued the trend with the 2021 K-drama 'Our Beloved Summer' for his other actor friend, Choi Woo-shik.

V's solo activities have received a lot of attention and fans are looking forward to seeing him as an actor very soon following his first and so-far, last acting project - the 2016 show 'Hwarang' where he played Suk Han-sung. The show gave V lifelong friends in his co-actors Park Seo-joon and Park Hyung-sik, who were later joined by Seo-joon's friend Choi Woo-shik and musician Peakyboy.
