When it comes to medical kits, bandaids are a must-have. Everyone uses them to deal with cuts and bruises. And while they are meant to be skin-colored to blend in, they seldom do the job for dark-skinned people. If you've been on the prowl for a bandaid that suits your skin tone, then Browndages is where it is at!

Now, the question is will Browndages be able to impress the sharks — Mark Cuban, Robert Herjavec, Kevin O'Leary, Lori Greiner, and Daymond John and score a deal? Here's what you need to know about the brand!

What are Browndages?

Browndages is an adhesive bandage brand that aims to be inclusive, seeing that it comes in a variety of colors that are not often seen in traditional bandages. Available in a range of deeper skin tones, the brand aims to cater to people of color, seeing that bandages in the market often cater to lighter skins or are available in only standard colors.

The brand has certainly developed quite the following, with actress Lupita N'yongo being one of their customers as well. She even Instagrammed a photo of herself rocking Browndages, with the caption — "Finally, a bandage that blends! Thank you, @browndages for helping me conceal my clumsiness! (Tip: wipe off your shea butter for the best stick.)"

Who are the founders?

Intisar Bashir and Rashid Mahdi are the founders of the brand. The wife and husband duo spoke to Vogue about why creating an inclusive brand was important to them. “The bandages we were buying did not match the flesh of our family,” Intisar said, “so we thought to create our own company,” she added. The idea behind the brand came when the parents realized that all the bandages out there lacked imagery that their kids could relate to.

What is the cost and where to buy?

A Browndages "Assorted" box retails for $3.99 and can be purchased on the brand's website. The pack contains "Adult bandages, 20pcs. 5 assorted shades of brown" and is "Latex Free". Browndages products have been reviewed rather well, seeing that customers have largely positive things to say. One customer wrote — "Hello! Thank you SO much for making an amazing product that reflects my daughter's beautiful chocolate skin! I got these in the mail today and can't wait to show her (she's 4). I encourage you to continue to add professional females to your bandages — doctors, lawyers, scientists, judges, astronauts, librarians, administrators, artists, writers, community advocates...there are endless possibilities, which I want my very bright daughter to see...the sky is the limit! Thank you again for your very thoughtful product. Dr. Holly Pope (Researcher and teacher)"

Another said — "These are so cool! I bought them for the first aid area at my work, and at least one of my coworkers was really excited when she saw that there were bandages that matched her skin tone. I tried one out, and the adhesive seemed good. I think that every place that provides bandages should have a variety of skin tones, and so this is a much-needed product."

A reviewer also mentioned that they purchased more to share with family and friends. "This is my first time ever having a bandage that is the color of my skin and it's an amazing feeling. Tried one out for a few hours, took a shower with it, it didn't budge! They also showed up in less than a week after I placed the order. I bought 5 packs of these bad boys to share with various family members, including my 3 younger siblings who are scrape/injury prone by virtue of being children :). I will be ordering more when they are back in stock! Thank you browndages!!!"

Where is Browndages now?

If you've been keeping up with Browndages' social media, then you that the brand has been as busy as it can get. Their most recent product launch was back in September 2021, when they introduced their high elastic wraps on Instagram. The caption of the post read — "Introducing new high elastic wraps from Browndages. Perfect for sprains and strains and everything in between. No need to buy the other wraps, we've got you covered. Put us on!" The launch was well-received, with fans and customers excited about the new product.

Who will steal the deal?

It is hard to say who might take the bait depending on the numbers. However, there is a good chance Daymond John might be the shark to invest in the brand. Looks like fans will just have to wait and find out!
