Brave Girls outfits called 'outdated', fans say 'Netizens need to shut up'

Every K-pop group that makes its debut in the industry do so with a group "concept" in mind that the members of these groups stick to throughout all their years active. With every new comeback, each of these groups try to work on new versions of their original debut concept, and this is common for most K-pop groups. Be it 'Girl Crush', 'Boy Crush', 'Sexy', 'Retro', 'Pop', 'Innocent', there are plenty of concepts to choose from when groups make their K-pop debut. So is the case with Brave Girls who made their debut in 2011 with a Retro concept. But off lately, every time the girls make a comeback, their stylists are put under fire for not doing a good job when it comes to their outfits.

Back in May of 2021, fans of Brave Girls had taken to Twitter to discuss why Brave Girls’ stylists need to up their game. It was stated that when it comes to the outfits of Brave Girls, despite their concept being retro, the members of Brave Girls are seen wearing outfits inspired from the 2010s that are not really retro or modern but just in between. On March 25, various media outlets reported that Korean fans of Brave Girls are not happy with the work their stylists are doing for the girls when it comes to their outfits.

Fans are unhappy with Brave Girls’ outfits

In particular, one fan pointed out that Brave Girls’ recent music show appearance was a clear example of why their artists were not doing a good job at styling the girls. The remark was made in order to convey that if the Brave Girls stylists do no up their game for Brave Girls, it would become difficult for them to stand out among the other girl groups that participated with them on Mnet’s ‘Queendom 2’. One fan said, “#BraveGirls better take on stage outfits today, last time I saw a performance of this track I was umm okay..., but can't go wrong with black and white, although compared to their other tracks this one is not grabbing my attention as much, sorry sorry.”

One fan defended, “Tbh only Minyoung seems like out of the group outfit concept. Would be nixe a different choice cause Yujeing, Yuba and Eunji got nice outfits.” Another fan said, “Honestly, I agree.. even it was retro concept but the style really look like a mess. I think if they plan carefully & put enough hardwork, they will get much better result on the stylist.” One fan said, "This aint retro. This is thrifted core back in 2010 and i’m not living." Another fan said, "I think I should apply to be their stylist at this point, MY GIRLS DESERVES BETTER." Another fan said, "Oh those are awful. Someone fire that stylist!"

'Y'all need help'

On the other hand, some fans of the girl group rushed to shut the trolls down. One fan said, "It's because their concept was retro pop that's why their outfits seem outadated but Brave Girls still look good & beautiful wearing those outfits." One fan said, "Their concept is “retro,” and fans are saying their outfits are “outdated”? Y’all need help." Another fan said, "I'm assuming there concept is retro. Seems like they mixed few decades together. I don't see a problem If that's the concept and who choose the word outdated lol. Clothes never really get outdated but overall they don't look bad." One more fan said, "Netizens sometime needs to shut up."
