2021 has been a year of comebacks for a lot of iconic artists. We had second-gen groups like T-ara, 2PM, 2AM, SHINee, CNBLUE and F.T.Island releasing new music after a long time. We also got reunions from inactive or disbanded groups like After School, Girls’ Generation and Wanna One. And now we are getting chart reversals that pretty much brought back Brave Girls from the brink of disbandment. Their newfound fame has now gifted fans with the group's first concert and lightstick.

'Brave Girls is a second-gen girl group that debuted in 2011. Due to the strong competition from the likes of miss A, Wonder Girls, Sistar, 2NE1 and more during that period, Brave Girls got the short end of the stick with other issues like members leaving, long hiatuses, funding and promotion problems. Fortunately, in 2021, the girl group saw a chart reversal of their 2017 song ‘Rollin’. A popular Korean YouTuber, Viditor, posted a compilation of Brave Girls performing the song in February 2021, and in the following days it blew up with the song getting noticed by the general public.

Brave Girls get 1st lightstick and concert

‘Rollin’ beat chart giants like IU and SHINee and topped several major South Korean charts like Genie, MelOn, Bugs, FLO, Gaon and charted high on international charts like Billboard and iTunes. It became Brave Girls’ first song to get a real-time all-kill (topping the main four South Korean music charts). By May 2021, the girl group had shot up in the industry and was spoken about in the same breath as popular third-gen acts like BTS, Blackpink, TWICE and Seventeen. Brave Girls were also finally acknowledged at award shows, being nominated for the first time since 2011 and even winning several of them. Recently, they won at the 2021 Asia Artist Awards and MelOn Music Awards.

Well, now we are getting good news after good news. It was first reported that Brave Girls are nominated for several major awards at the likes of Seoul Music Awards, MAMA, Gaon Chart Music Awards and Golden Disc Awards. On top of it, the girl group is getting their first official lightstick. The circular light stick which has the initials BG and glitter inside come in pink and yellow. And while they have performed at events before, they have never had their own solo concert.

Well, to remedy that, Brave Girls will also be holding their first concert ever. Their label announced that fans will be getting a 2-day concert titled ‘The Brave Girls Show’ on January 15 and 16, 2022 at Olympic Hall in Seoul. Having debuted in 2011, netizens were shocked that they were getting their first lightstick and first concert after 10 years. The lightstick launched on December 8 at 12 pm KST (December 7 at 10 pm ET).

'So happy for them'

Fans are happy for the girl group as they are finally getting what they deserve. One fan shared, “This is so pretty i am so happy for them.” Another posted, “The concert i was waiting for.” One Fearless tweeted, “YES! FINALLY AFTER 10 YEARS SINCE THEIR DEBUT! THEY FINALLY HAVE THEIR VERY OWN OFFICIAL LIGHTSTICK & CONCERT LET'S GO FEARLESS WELL-DESERVED QUEENS!” They also commented, “I FEEL SO PROUD OF THEM!!!!!” and “Queens Era Coming.”
