LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Bodkin' is streaming on Netflix from May 9, 2024, and it tells the story of podcasters Gilbert (Will Forte) and Emmy (Robyn Cara) along with investigative journalist Dove (Siobhán Cullen) investigate mysterious disappearances that took place 21 years ago in a beautiful Irish town.

Created by Jez Scharf, 'Bodkin' starts as a dark comedy but grows to become a thrilling murder mystery. The makers of 'Bodkin' have invested heavily in creating a world out of an idyllic town that hides secrets close to its chest.

From its mystery to the humorous bits, 'Bodkin' is a series that will entertain and captivate audiences over its seven episodes. Here's our review of 'Bodkin'.

Brilliant Art direction and Production design are the soul of 'Bodkin'

The town of Bodkin plays a character in this city and it has been designed beautifully. From the beautiful empty spaces to the characters in the town, everything about Bodkin is important to the plot of the series.

'Bodkin' is a masterclass in production design and the production team has done an excellent job in finding the locations and making them look the way they look. Bodkin is a fictitious town that is designed to suit the plot line but it also looks relatable and very real.

The art direction of 'Bodkin' is impeccable and the choice of color palettes and set design complements the scenic beauty of the place and goes with the theme of the show.

Will Forte, Siobhán Cullen, and Robyn Cara are in top form

Will Forte is exceptional in his role as Gilbert. He plays the role of a podcaster very seriously and makes his character look very natural and organic while adding bits of subtle humor and reactions.

Siobhán Cullen is brilliant in her role of Dove. She plays an investigative journalist who looks down on podcasters and her interplay and chemistry with Gilbert is the highlight of the show.

Robyn Cara is a revelation in this series. She is adorable and plays the character of Emmy perfectly. She owns the character and you cannot imagine anyone else playing this role.

Jez Scharf creates a thoroughly entertaining show

'Bodkin' is a brilliant show from beginning to end as it entertains in parts and also keeps the element of mystery going. The first few episodes set up the characters perfectly for them to give a payoff at the end.

The makers manage to keep the viewer's attention with consistent red herrings and diversions and the final revelation is a great payoff for the viewers and also gives appropriate justification for the characters.

'Bodkin' gives its viewers a ride through the beautiful landscapes of Ireland and people who hold hidden truths close to their chests.
