'Bodkin' aka 'On Record' is an upcoming dark comedy/thriller series written by Jez Scharf and directed by Nash Edgerton. It releases on May 9, on Netflix.

The series has been produced by Higher Ground along with wiip. Higher Ground is an American production company founded by former United States President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama,  Alex Metcalf and Jez Scharf serve as the showrunners for this show. 

Shooting for this show began in the summer of 2022 and took place in West Cork, Dublin, and Wicklow in Ireland. Will Forte was brought on board to lead the series in June 2022 along with other cast members. 

What is the plot of 'Bodkin' aka 'On Record'?

Podcasters Gilbert (Will Forte), Dove (Siobhán Cullen), and Emmy (Robyn Cara) seek to unearth the mystery behind the disappearance of three strangers that took place 21 years ago. As they dig deeper into unraveling the mystery, they uncover narratives that are way more complex than they initially thought. 

The podcasters discover that there is more to the idyllic Irish locations than what meets the eye. A complicated narrative is waiting to be unraveled. It will transcend all expectations that the podcasters can imagine. 

The official synopsis of 'Bodkin' reads, "A ragtag crew of podcasters sets out to investigate mysterious disappearances from decades earlier in a charming Irish town with dark, dreadful secrets."

Will Forte is an American actor and comedian born on June 17, 1970. Forte started his career by writing for 'That 70s Show' and '3rd Rock from the Sun'.

Forte auditioned for 'Saturday Night Live' and performed multiple characters. In films, he made his debut with 'Around the World in 80 Days'. His film 'MacGruber' (2009) fared badly at the box office but later became an iconic cult classic. 

Since then, he has starred in films like 'Run & Jump', 'Nebraska', '22 Jump Street', 'Keanu' and 'The Laundromat' among others.

Siobhán Cullen started her career when she was eight years old. She started working in feature films with 'The Crooked Mile'. She appeared in films like 'The Inside', 'The Limehouse Golem', 'The Randomer' and 'The Bright Side' before getting her biggest break in a mini-series called 'Paula'. 

Since then, she has done films like 'The Long Call', 'The Dry'. and 'Obituary' where was the main lead.

Robyn Cara graduated from Birmingham School of Acting in 2016 and has since worked in stage productions, films, and TV shows. 

Her first major break came in 2020 when she landed a role in the comedy 'Trying'. Since then, she has done multiple films like 'We Die Young', 'Doctor Jekyll', and 'Land of Legend' (yet to be released). Cara has also done TV shows like 'Life' (2020), 'Ackley Bridge'(2021-2022), and 'The Rising' (2022).
