Since 2018, Blackpink’s Jennie has been a Chanel ambassador. From wearing the brand at huge events to attending their fashion shows, she embodies the French fashion house perfectly. Her loyalty to the brand is unmatched, which is why in most of her photoshoots, we see her adorned in pieces made by Chanel. This is what Elle kept in mind for their latest photoshoot with her too.

Going for a dark and mysterious vibe despite it being summer in South Korea, Jennie shot for a pictorial spread and was interviewed for Elle Korea’s August issue. She happens to be the latest cover girl after the news of Jisoo appearing on seven editions of Elle in June to Lisa being on the newest cover for W Korea’s August issue. From Jisoo partnering up with Dior to Lisa for Celine and Rosé for Saint Laurent, the other girls of the group also have been scouted by huge fashion brands.

In a windswept look and sultry makeup, Blackpink’s Jennie was sporting Chanel from their Fall/Winter '21 collection as well as rings from Coco Crush, Chanel’s jewelry collection. She also happens to be the first Asian artist to wear from their Fall/Winter '21 collection. She was photographed by Hong Jang-hyeon while the fashion stylist was Park Min-hee. The interview was handled by features editor, Lee Maru.

In a sneak-peek of the interview, Elle revealed why Jennie loves making music. She said, “I think when a story that was unraveled through the melody harmonizes with the styling, it delivers another type of fun. I tend to put in effort to convey the message of the music visually as well.”

She even opened up as to why she decided to make a YouTube channel, “I thought it was the best way to show my slightly more comfortable and honest everyday life off stage. Filming for YouTube is also more fun than I expected.” She also spoke up about how she felt watching her performances, “When I watch my gaze and facial expressions on stage through videos after time has passed, it often feels new and amazing to me too. It also makes me happy as I reminisce about the moments when we communicated with fans watching the performances.”

Blinks took to Twitter to trend “The Jennie” to support the release of the covers. One fan tweeted, “OUR HUMAN CHANNEL JENNIE KIM.” Another fan tweeted, “JENNIE KIM FOR ELLE ALWAYS SERVING.” One fan tweeted, “Jennie on the cover of ELLE Korea August 2021. She's breathtaking.” Another tweeted, “I love how elle quoted the cover as "THE JENNIE" like exactly!!”
